About this creation
There is a lot to love about the original Star Wars trilogy. For some people it it is the cool vehicles, for others the timeless story, for me, it was always about the disclosure moments in the epic lightsaber duels. Here is my take on the final duel between Vader and Luke in Return of the Jedi.

Spiffy !!! Great lines on that characters and the LS are brilliant.
Thanks. This is still one of my favourite creations too. I really like the way I managed to get the characters into such a small amount of pieces, I'm glad you enjoyed it too. |

That is something else. It manages to look both simple and difficult to create. Pretty awesome.
Might be my favourite build of mine. The cleverest part is Luke's angled ankle - anyone want to take a guess how I made that part? |

Superb, David. I think this may be my favorite work by you yet. Could it just be because there's a place in my heart for lightsaber duels? Maybe. I think you captured the essence of the two adversaries perfectly. In their duels, Luke was always the active one and Vader normally just stood there stiffly. The pose that you put Luke in is very dynamic. Your recent studies in this sort of build has been fun to watch and I think, as far as representing poses without hinges, this is your best work yet. Great work, sir.
Thanks Tim, this was one I really thought you'd like. I'll be interested to see what you think of my Batman MOC in this style when I post it.

Brilliant sense of motion for the two-dimensional format. Great work!
I wanted to capture Vader's shadow, that's when he seems his most intimidating. I loved the way Luke leaps about and Vader just slashes and floats. |

I think I've worked out, I approach LEGO as I do when I draw or paint, working out compositions and component arrangements. Whilst I love model making, and Classic Space in particular, this is where my niche in the LEGO community lies. |

I think Empire had more emotional charge, whereas Jedi wins on choreography. |

"Impressive". Fantastic work DAS. As a martial artist (hence my name) I really appreciate Luke's stance
I always loved the way in the original trilogy Vader and Luke had such different styles of sabre fighting. Vader's knight in armour slashing seemed lost later on. That's partly what I wanted to capture. |
