Legend of Meedass #8; the Montresor reserve
the Montresor reserve, ACT; 2 Meedass s childhood
About this creation
ACT 2; the Montresor reserve

Here he is!
are you sure it s him?
the wizard said only one child was light brown haired,
that s him!
when do we go?

maybe he ll come a little closer...
hear that?

where is he now!

i m coming dad!

I can t beleive we ve missed him!
now, what are we going to do?

The Montresor reserve is sought all troughout the SOLARIS system,
it had 10 000 years to build itself this reputation,
our scientists have discovered, that, the old baron found some way to make
wine taste better with time , endlessly!
in cohesion with this, he protected the barrels with a special coating
made of a savant mix of honey wax and oils.

this process was so efficient, that, the barrels we find today are in very good shape,
and the wine is turned into a divine nectar!

Of course, at 50k the bottle, if you don t remember that toast,
your accountant surely never will forget this memorable moment!

we have found a total of 3 000 000 barrels to date,
but, our estimates are more around 10 000 000 or more...
the old baron had really only 2 preocupations;
the grapes...
and games with women...
he tought, and talked of nothing else,
that is why things went so bad for his castle and lands.

in this process, he completely deppleted the famous 'Montresor treasure'
wich insured his supremacy on his lands, and even challenged the king s treasure!

We have evidence that, he highly paid some far away peasants to store barrels
burried underground their lots.

But, when the 'grapes illness' started, he went to extremes,
like paying peasants to pierce the thickest defence walls, to stuff barrels,
too preocupied, and ill, he let the peasants help themselves in the castle vault!
some people said that some nights, it was almost as bright as day,
in the castle village, from the mix of torches and gold!

When discovered, he stongly argued it insulated the castle...
this had the effect of ruining the family treasure, and weaken the castle furthermore...
he was then considered a mad man!
all troughout the lands!

The king respected and enforced Tracey s demand of prohibition on her land,
he payed her a fair price for all the barrels sent to him,
Drakolith and him now had monopoly of grapes on their lands.

The old scripts describe the Baroness and Sherrif like this;
After they had gloriously rid the land of the evil grapes,
They both fought for peace and justice in the lands...

Tracey and the Sherrif managed things much better for the castle and the lands, but...
some games where already very popular with the nobles,
and Tracey and the Sherrif loved to impress them and make them laugh,
it was like their own tv show!

It was of course at the expense of the peasants, sometimes, nobles even,
no one was above the law!
except for the Baroness and Sherrif mind you.

At 17, Tracey looked yougn, and radiant,
the Sherrif who took her as burden at first,
was slowly, but, surely getting more and more jealous of her private affairs with nobles,
and the rumours of torrid elvishes nights enraged him no limit!
he had most of his fun with Drakolith s women, now, he wanted something deeper,
and his best inspiration remained Tracey!

She, on the other hand, cared so little about the Sherrif,
seeing him more like an uncle figure, that he could discreetly slay all his rivals,
depleating the land of good men to defend or build on it....

The HEAD WHEEL SPOKE game made by the old baron, could nt be improved much upon,
the prisonner had to turn the wheel constantly, as fast as he can, or the spokes burn!
it happened to a little man with a creature companion,
now, both suffered the same fate.

life is...PRECIOUS!!!

This one was invented by the Baroness and Sherrif,
if you know SIMON SAYS, well, it was Sherrif says!
sherrif says 1...sherrif says...6!!!

Most of Drakolith s men have survived, but, were nt allowed for tools,
instead, they had to clean with their hands and pick up small rocks.

A few peasants survived, but, mostly because they were specialised in something,
they eated fish and bananas...
while the Baroness and Sherrif lived like kings!

And if the 'land s people' did nt react, or answer their rulers s
expectations, or every wish...
they got the 'games', don t eat, or sleep, or worse...the CESSPOOL!!!

The lighter thing of it was, that, you could get intimity,
when they closed the cover....

The prison was outside, although one was interior,
the Sherrif liked his prisonners fresh , he used to say that he liked them
suffering from the weather, especially in wintertime!

The war advisors sent by the king said that, if Drakolith did nt react after 2 years,
he would nt do anything at all...
when nothing happened after 4, the kings men left except for the 3 campain strategists,
who liked what was going on then they pretty much did what they wanted too,,

It s just that...they where wrong about Drakolith!!!

Braveheart is my fav movie of all times, it inspires me in my personnal life,
it s no wonder my Meedass serie will give some hints of that.

I love the english sarcasm of monthy python.

I always loved the sinbad movies I saw in my childhood...

next...Drakolith s fury!!!

Quoting El Barto ! the castle was supposed to be much smaller at first, but, looking at it, I figured that I could nt fit all there, like, the stockpile, granary, was supposed to be the main balcony only, so, it was a lot of work, but, well worth it in the end. @ nick; thanks a lot nick! it sure makes us happy these times are gone, lol!

I love how you're developing this story, as if it's a historical account of the Middle Ages; when plenty of stuff like this happened. The castle you built for it is magnificent!
