I'm still waiting for my flying car. Here's one idea for what it might look like...
About this creation
In the 25th century, many people work from home using the ultranet, while the majority of those who do have to be physically present to do their jobs travel by teleporter. However, a minority still like to feel the wind in their hair on the way to work.
To accomodate thse enthusiasts without re-creating the pollution problems of the 20th and 21st centuries, metro and subway tunnels around the world have been converted into magnetic car channels.
Their rails replaced by high-power quantum magnets, magnetic repulsion allows hovercars to glide along them swiftly and safely. Further magnets on the cars make a collision almost impossible.
The only thing you have to be careful of is not to drop your keys out of the car; they'll be left hovering in mid-air and you'll never get close enough to pick them up again!
Fourth wall: one of several small projects I've built since December to try out new ideas/concepts, but haven't had time to post. This one was partly inspired by the Lego Ideas Book, which a friend gave me for Christmas. Thanks!
sounds and looks like fun! magnetic system - mmh i think i read something in a book as a child about that and thought - cool ! sleeping or playing cards while driving ;-) !
Looks like i'd be looking for someone to post bail for me in that!!! A pleasing ticket getter. =] BTW we'll get flying cars when we get the jetpacks we were promised back in the 50s. Great design, does it come in British Racing Green?
