Thanks to the recent acquisition of LucasArts by Disney, announcements have been made for Star Wars Episode VII. I find this equally wonderful and terrifying. What will happen to our beloved space saga next? Will this mean more cross-overs between traditional Disney and Star Wars characters? We'll have to wait until 2015 to know for sure, but I went ahead and made a mashup of the two properties that are now one, combining a Sith with the magician Mickey Mouse, as seen in Fantasia.
Behold the dark Sith, Darth Mouse!
The back, with more dark Jedi armour plating. I'd have liked to add a cape, but LEGO hasn't made any "mouse-sized" capes yet.
The main focus of the MOC was capturing an angry Mickey expression, and the scale of the MOC was dictated from there. To keep the head in proportion I needed to build a lot smaller than I usually do, so I explored techniques using small and obscure parts. "I was once a fan of Star Wars the same as your father; before the Dark Times; before the Empire..." I am a fan of the Saga and the Clone Wars, and just when things were getting really, really interesting they cancel it to make way for VII I think that was a bad move. Now I have unconcluded stories unless all the ones that mattered most were in enough production to be the "bonus content." I can't even think of a possible way to make three other movies, VI ended too well and it all centered around Anakin Skywalker, who is now dead and a ghost. The universe may still exist, but the whole thing with Vader and his story is now complete which is what the 6 parts of the saga were about.
