Ladder One is a 1993 Smeal 105’ rear mount aerial ladder built on a Spartan Gladiator chassis. It has a 1,500gpm Waterous pump and a 200 gallon tank.
Two crosslays are mounted above the pump panel. Each has a 200’ 1 ¾ inch handline with combination nozzle. 800’ of 5 inch supply hose is carried alongside the tank.
The ladder is plumbed for a master stream at 1,000gpm. The ladder also has an air bottle attached to it so firefighters can plug in using special airpacks. Controls for the rotating nozzle are located on the pump panel.
Emergency lighting is provided by a two Code 3 light bars up front and Federal lights in the rear. A Federal Q2B siren is mounted on the bumper.
Ladder One is second due on all structure fires in the Platesmouth area. It is also the primary mutual aid ladder in the county.
