Mentu starfighter
About this creation
Meet Mentu, the member of Light Fighters family. With high speed and manouverability, very small size and fast, precise weapons, this starfighter is perfecly suited for its job - guarding larger vessels which otherwise are easy prey for bombers. It has no hyperdrive - just like TIE series fighters, but unlike them it has some shielding and armor, which make it even harder to damage.

The shape is designed for atmospheric flight, so it is sleek, aerodynamic, the fighter has also wings which greatly help in atmosphere manouvering.

Underside; this part is unarmored as there are no vital subsystems there, and mass reduction was one of key points during designing the Mentu. Even landing gear is very basic - almost no amortisation, just two titanium bars installed directly under the weight center.

Opening cockpit. It was real pain to build, with all that SNOT there. Installing controls was definitely the hardest task, but I've found some space for control stick, HUD, little tile 1x1 with buttons and one computer slope 2x1.

The Mentu weapon system consists of four rapid plasma cannons, designed to damage rather lighter targets - such as other fighters, bombers or missiles of various kind. No heavier weaponary here, no torpedoes or missiles!

Engines - each with 6 directional nozzles, they are core to ship's speed and manouverability. And notice that metallic silver finishing ^^

Technically the model is pure SNOT, without any dominating direction. It is quite fragile, but still has some swooshability - and this definitely is fun to swoosh around :>

[eh. whatever I do, text is borked. On preview it is ok, on final page - wrong. New display system of MOCpages sux!!!]

Cool fighter. It looks like you've managed to cram lots of detail into a very compact design.

that is amazing is it completely snot? The whole overall shape is just believable as a space ship.

Good job! Nice color scheme, I like the cockpit and the engines, and the wings are nice. Too bad I don't have a red visor. Those are cool.

This is a great piece of work, I like the bulbous design of the cockpit and the forward swept wings. The red, tan, and black color scheme works together perfectly as well.
