My first ever LotR MOC! I decided to go for a scene that will probably never get an official Lego set, since it was omitted from the films.
About this creation
Tom Bombadil appears in Book 1 of the Fellowship of the Ring, where he rescues the hobbits from Old Man Willow in the Old Forest, before giving them 2 nights' shelter in his house on their way to Bree. The house is not described in very much detail, leaving plenty of room for interpretation (and adapting to my brick collection!)

Tom Bombadil lives in a 'simple stone house' on a hillside on the edge of the forbidding Barrow Downs.

After their harrowing experience in the Old Forest, the hobbits gladly accept his offer of hospitality.

In contrast to the wild lands around, Tom Bombadil's garden is tidy and well kept.

The hobbits are pleased at the prospect of spending a night with a proper roof over their heads!

On entering the house, they are met by Goldberry, the 'daughter of the river' and Tom Bombadil's wife.

"Be welcome, young hobbits, and find rest and ease under my roof."

In very little time Goldberry has provided food for the hobbits and Tom. Frodo is initially wary of discussing the reason for their journey, but is eventually persuaded to show Tom the ring, who proves to be strangely immune to its effects; he even tosses it up in the air and makes it disappear before giving it back to Frodo!

The archway leads to the north wing of the house where the hobbits' bedroom is - unfortunately outside the scope of this MOC!

Plan view of the main room of the house. The whole roof lifts off for easy access.

Detail of the entrance hall with torch, hatstand and washbasin, and of Goldberry's pantry & sideboard

Exterior without the minifigs

Thanks for looking and apologies for the photo quality - I was taking them in a hurry with small children around!

Nice work! Just watched the Hobbit this weekend. Looks like your design fits right it to Shire architectural standards!

They're good enough that I don't feel any remorse about mentioning them again... the angles really make this MOC! Some great atmosphere you've got going on here.

Awesome! I also thought about building Tom Bombadils House in Lego and started several times, but it never turned out nice enough. I love the chapter with Tom in the book. It lets you breath again between all the evil coming closer and closer.

Fantastic! Good ol' Tom Bombadil, it's a pity he never made it into the films (though it is nice to have characters that are unique to the book). An excellent little structure you've built here. I like the angles of the walls. Well done Mr. Lucas!

Simple - Tie the kids to a chair. :D Wonderful moc, (I'm seeming critical of others' builds today...) although it seems a bit too "Fanciful". At least, IMO. :D Love the roof, and the angles, though!
