We had just spacefolded into the system and were looping around Rigel VI to re-orient our ship for the final leg into orbit around rigel III. Then the main core suddenly went into fault mode and shut down. I turned to activate the backup core, but as I turned to the controls it also went into fault. One by one, all the systems onboard failed. The thrusters, navigation, sensors, electricity, and finally the life support. I sat there in the dark, cold cabin, my control panels lifeless and dark. Far away, within the bowels of the ship, I heard shuffling. I meant to put on my spacesuit to check it out, but I was suddenly paralyzed. Not by any exterior force, but by fear. I saw the thing outside the port-hole, blacker than black, like a shadow comet it sped across my dark window and out of sight. The dark star was upon me, slowly killing my ship and me with it. I froze for some minutes, hearing nothing but the blood pounding in my ears and seeing nothing but the stars within my porthole's round frame. It seemed like days later, a galaxy squad detachment eventually came to my aid, but they were worried more for my cargo than for me. It seems there was an important crate on-board that went missing. They say the OWLS snatched it, But I know different. Theres secrets in this galaxy that ought to remain hidden, things bigger than mortal men; bigger than all of us put together. The dark star's the one that keeps the secrets of the void from getting let out.
About this creation
Despite having no destructive capability, DarkStar spaceships are the most feared item in the OWLS inventory. They disable spaceships with valuable cargoes so that other operatives can empty those cargoes at their leisure. The DarkStar was originally called the wraith, but space captain's stories of their encounters with the "dark star" caught on among wraith pilots. Eventually the name changed officially to DarkStar.
