Built for "The Car Builder's Club: contest group". The first contest being Classic Le Mans Cars (up to 1988). Pretty sure this classifies as Le Mans.
About this creation
This model was based off this, with some more info on the car here (scroll down to 1983).
Super wide body kit.
Full rollcage that actually makes the car very rigid (probably my strongest car build ever!).
Detailed interior featuring driver seat, gear shift lever, steering wheel, speedometer/tacho and other guages and buttons.
Detailed engine bay featuring an intercooler with piping, manifold and the rest of the engine.
The rear lights are too big. The problem I had was that 1x1 rounds were too small, and 2x2 was too big. I ended up picking the 2x2.
Interior features a full roll cage, only one seat and not much else (being a race car and all!)
I used up almost all of my orange to make the driver's seat. I should get more orange!
I took a few shots of the engine bay. This car features a LZ20B engine; an inline 4 cylinder 2.0L turbo-charged engine capable of a power output of over 419kW. Sadly it was still no match for the Porsche 956.
My son wanted to be in one of the photos. He rarely poses for photos, so I went with it.
For teh lolz, I got a technic fig to show off the rear deep-dish rims using his mobile phone (the only real way to show of the mad dish, yo!).
Thanks for looking and good luck to everyone else entering the contest.
