The Great Force War 20: Lords of Mortis
Date: 2001 ABY Location: Mortis
About this creation
Darth Ignatious took a deep breath as he walked towards the silent pool. He could feel the power of Mortis flowing through his body, it was a glorious feeling.

Darth Ignatious: "You came."

Yurren Relm approached the pool slowly, his dark eyes fixed curiously on Ignatious.

Yurren Relm: "I promised I would. Why are we here, Ignatious?"

Darth Ignatious: "You know why, Yurren. Our destinies have been entwined since Korriban. It was no coincidence that we both sucumbed to stasis."

Darth Ignatious: "You represent all that is good in the Force, I represent all that is dark. I thought it fitting that we come to Mortis to settle our fight."

Yurren Relm: "But why here? Why now?"

Ignatious approached the pool and lookd down into the sparkling waters.

Darth Ignatious: "This pool grants imortality. The victor of our battle will bathe in the waters of the Force and be allowed to defend their beliefs for eternity."

Yurren Relm: "That is the difference between you and I, Ignatious. I never wanted to be imortal."

Darth Ignatious: "But imortality has found you, Yurren. You could have a great Sith, as I could have made a great Jedi. Circumstance drew us to our paths, but the Force now shows us the way. It has been an honour, Master Relm."

Without a word, the two men activated their weapons and adopted defencive positions.

Marcus Savron: "Wait!"

The Sith Lord and Jedi Master turned in surprise as Master Savron marched onto the scene.

Marcus Savron: "You are both fools! There can only be one Lord of Mortis, one who does not fear the dark and embraces the light as well."

Darth Ignatious: "Savron, the Jedi turned traitor. You are the fool if you think you can stand against us."

Marcus Savron: "I am Master of the Order of Truth! Only we can bring the Galaxy back into balance."

Yurren Relm: "Marcus, don't do this."

Marcus Savron: "I shall do what I please, Master Relm. I am here to rid the Galaxy of its most dangerous criminals."

Marcus leapt through the air, his blade clashing against Yurren's as he attacked viciously.

The fallen Jedi turned around as Ignatious stabbed at his back, but he nimbly blocked the attack.

Yurren and Ignatious stumbled together, their eyes locked and they nodded.

As Marcus charged forward, the Jedi Master and Sith Lord spun around and launched powerful Force attacks at the Master of Truth. Marcus grunted painfully as he was thrown across the grass.

Darth Ignatious: "Give it up, boy!"

Marcus Savron: "Never! I have power of my own!"

Marcus raised his hand and the ground tore open as two armoured skeletons clawed their way out of the earth.

The skeletons lumbered forward and engaged Yurren and Ignatious.

Yurren dodged the skeleton attacking him and spun around, cutting the creature down easily.

Ignatious meanwhile used the Force to throw his skeleton into the water, its heavy armour dragging it under.

The warriors looked at each other before the fight began again.

Blow after blow, attack after attack and none of the warriors relented.

Darth Ignatious: "So here we are. Three imortal warriors trapped combat until the dark claims us."

Marcus Savron: "Only one of us will walk away from this!"

Yurren Relm sighed. He was tired of the fighting, tired of the arguments.
A flash of movement in the distance drew his attention.

Yurren stared past Ignatious at the distant figure and a gentle smile touched his lips. He knew which one of them would be leaving the planet.

Yurren turned back to the conversation and nodded grimly.

Darth Ignatious: "There's no way around it, Savron! You will die here!"

Marcus Savron: "I'll put that theory to the test!"

The three warriors swung their blades, the energy beams crackling as they came together.
Yurren looked up at the other two men.

Yurren Relm: "Only one of us will leave this place."

Yurren's blade came down, cutting down Marcus in one slash. At the same time, Darth Ignatious thrust his weapon through Yurren's neck.

Ignatious breathed slowly as he looked at Savron's prone figure. He then turned to the crumpled remains of Yurren Relm's robe. The Grand Master's body had vanished as he had killed him.

Ignatious walked towards the waters and gently submerjed himself into the clear pool.

However, as the Sith Lord sat in the clear water, he could not help but feel as though he was being watched...
