LEGO Dodgems
4600-part LEGO model of the Dodgems amusement ride, also known as Bumper Cars, Dashing Cars, or Autoscooter. This was built with MLCad and rendered with POV-Ray (nothing to do with LDD).
About this creation
All pictures in better quality at Flickr or BrickShelf

The Dodgems track is 112 studs long and includes 1812 round 1x1 transparent plates to simulate lights, mainly on the overhead roof fascias.

The roof is held up with 18 2x2x10 triangular support girders, which are decorated with a mixture of lights, loudhailers, and chequered flags.

The ceiling power grid is made from 72 8x8 plates with grill & hole. The track floor is made from 105 6x6 tiles with a perimeter white wall and black bumper.

At the top of the girder supports are a series of technic beam structures that span the width of the model, onto which the power-grid is pinned underneath, and the decorative fascia panels attached with hinges.

(Power-grid and fascia panels removed)

The cars feature bumpers, lights, wheels, steering wheel, and rear power pole.

After a ride on the Dodgems, you might want a ride on the Twister!

Thanks everyone for the comments.
Quoting TheLegoNoitAll . amazing job! Though i can't believe it's that many parts!
80 parts per car (incl. minifig), 12 cars, that's 960 straight away. 600 or so on the roof. 100 on the floor tiles. 100 on the power-grid. 1800 round plates (as lights). That's 3560. The rest is mostly in the stepped base and perimeter wall and control booth. It soon adds up, and being a digital MOCer yourself, you'll know what that does to my render times!

This was a real trip down Memory Lane and was one of my favorite amusement park rides! Highly detailed and well executed!
