Pre-production and test version of the F-4 Phantom. Achieved 16 world records, including five speed records unbeaten until 1975 by the F-15. The F4H-1 had a distinctly smaller radome and lower profile rear canopy than the later production F4H-1F (F-4A) and all subsequent variants. Color scheme is typical of pre-production aircraft.
Model features dual opening canopies with detailed cockpits, opening radome, functional landing gear with multi-piece doors, positionable flaps, spoilers, and airbrakes, positionable tailhook, all-moving tailplanes, positionable RAT (Ram Air Turbine), and folding wingtips. Model also features centerline fuel tank.
