For those who made it to Brickworld Chicago 2013, you probably saw this in person in the Video Games layout.
I'm a huge Halo fan in a group of friends obsessed with Call of Duty. They still like Halo, and I still like Call of Duty, but their obsession with Call of Duty matches mine with Halo if you can even imagine that! Those friends have begged for a while now for me to make a gun from Call of Duty, and since modern guns don't seem very challenging or interesting to make, I went with one of the Zombies weapons, the Ray Gun. It has an awesome retro-futuristic look that was quite challenging to make surprisingly.
Paintball Explosion, a paintball park near me in East Dundee, IL, USA, has a replica Nuketown field from Call of Duty: Black Ops. I just had to get photos on their Nuketown field!
And for those who haven't played Call of Duty's Zombies mode, here's what the Ray Gun looks like:
Nice! I've only played COD once, but I did use this weapon and from what I remember you nailed it. Brilliant techniques throughout, I especially like the use of flex/pneumatic tubing and the ingenious use of trans pieces.
My friends and I enjoy playing Zombies, however my Spartan Ops skills don't translate well into Zombies; and I rarely find the magic Ray Gun.
Your Lego model is excellent, I love how it looks like the prototype while further exaggerating the "Toy Gun" look. The curves work great on the model, and while I know you don't make requests; may I subtly suggest similar curves look great on purple alien guns (hint hint).
