Some very simple but cool custom LEGO keychains using only a few parts in different colours.
About this creation
The easiest way to make a custom key chain. A "normal" LEGO key chain with a 2x4 brick plus a 2x4 plate and a 2x4 tile: The tile and the plate are also "protecting" the brick against abrasion. If they don't look good anymore, you can just change them.
What you get is a key chain with a square profile: If you can't get a 2x4 tile in your preferred colour you can use two 1x4 or 2x2 tiles instead.
Another simple way to make a key chain using a 2x2 plate with "crane hole", a 2x2 plate, a 2x4 plate and a 2x4 tile. The result is a multi colour 2x4x1 key chain with a hole:
It works as a 2x3x1 or 2x2x1 key chain, too:
You can use any colour combination you like. This way you can make some simple flags:
You can also use the colours of your favourite sports club to show your affection:
For the purists you can use an original LEGO chain, too: This one is from an old minifig key chain.
And the last one, my LEGO ruler:
You can use this one as a LEGO scale everywhere you go: It's a little fragile as a key chain in the pocket next to the keys, but it works well.
So these are my simple LEGO key chains.
I hope you like them. :-))
Hi Nils. What a great idea I love these, the colours and shapes are brilliant. All you need now is to stick a large lego plate on your wall so you can hang your keys up as you enter your house :D. Oh congrats on your new family member - fantastic news. My wife and I are expecting our third, we have our 20 week scan today :D
