This is my interpretation of the scene where Gandalf and Bilbo meet Beorn. It wasn't till later on in the build that I realized that Beorn's house is as big as the baseplate... So anyway, please leave some comments, they are appreciated. And please excuse the horrible hut/house, I cannot build houses. Here is the link to the MEMA .
Some creatures left-overs from dinner.
My lame attempt at rockwork. I'm usually better at it.
I think this idea had a lot of potential. I always like seeing a combination of a building and a landscape, since it shows diversity in building. The trees stand out to me, you made them well, and they aren't easy to get right. I agree that the house should be much bigger, even if you just built a corner of it. The rockwork is actually quite good, one of the best examples in the contest, though it would be even better if it were all one shade of grey. The landscaping could be a bit better with more variation in elevation, though, and the path would be better if it were less blocky. Great job, and thanks for entering!
Thanks so much for the detailed comment. I agree with you, I should've put rocks on the path, stuff like that. And I just got my first bricklink order of 38 "flower stems" grass pieces a few days ago. Right after I tear this down -_- Oh, and those builds were cool too. I didn't really put much effort into this, cause once I got started I really wanted to do this scene even though I didn't really have the best pieces for it. Oh well. Thanks again for the comment!
nice job, like you said, the hut could use some work. try making the terrain more interesting, like adding lots of rocks and stuff to the path, and adding a lot more grass if you have any. Right now it looks sorta plain. for some outstanding examples of terrain go here:http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/362389

these should give you some inspiration. I mainly get better by looking at other people's creations (and, yes, sometimes stealing techniques.) you should look at some of my first creations, they are HIDEOUS. anyway, this isn't that bad. 4/5
