Even though it’s a little late, enjoy this video recap of Brickworld Chicago 2013 featuring Max Pointner and Ian Spacek! It was a great time this year; so much talent and plastic in one place!
About this creation
Sorry for the less-than-perfect audio, as well. Though it's better than Nannan and Chris's squeaky tripod last year, I'm still a bit miffed at YouTube's audio compression.
Max and Ian, the goofballs that they are, forgot to cover the epic VirtuaLUG Oz display, so my apologies to the MOCpages gang.
Also, the three of us and Dave Kaleta will be debuting our own collaboration on July 2, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
Between Max Pointner, Ian Spacek, and I, we raked in four Brickworld trophies! Max won best vignette and best youth creation (stay tuned for posts). I won best small building with my model of Charlevoix Library, and the three of us won the most popular brickfilm with our action/adventure short Nottingham Tower!
Hope you enjoyed the video, and thanks for stopping by!
I am hoping/thinking/planning on presenting something there next year. Any suggestions or helpful hints that I should know? Oh, and great video. It covered a lot of stuff in such a short time.
Thank you for this coverage of Brickworld. Not too long, not too short and professionally done. From time to time I'd have preferred to see more of the actual creations displayed instead of Ian's and Max' faces, but it was definitely interesting and funny.
Great video Paul! The special effects were great, and Max and Ian did a nice job with the commentary. I must admit that I was glad to see myself in the video! ;)
No coverage of Oz!??! I shun thee! Jokes aside, nice coverage of the event guys! Looking forward to seeing you again next year and seeing what you guys bring! ~ Chris.
Quoting El Barto !
Great job on the video! You were really getting into that Fort Ti build, I must say. It protrudes like that in real life, actually ;) Sorry I missed meeting you two. Did I see you playing the piano, perhaps?
Banging on the piano, yes. And that would have been Max.

Great to see this, it's nice to have coverage of the convention in an edited video. The sound is ok as long as I could hear the narrators, a few more moments on the MOCs as they were talking would be even better.
Sorry I missed all of the action again. Been seeing a lot of pics of your set-up this past show, though - looks fantastic. Hope to catch ya next time around!
Well, I got a sneak preview of the film, and it is awesome (It is just be or was anyone else expecting a string arrangement "Call me Maybe" at the beginning). I think there's MORE than enough Wizard of Oz coverage to go around, so you are forgiven. Can't wait until July 2nd! AND congrats on all the accolades.
