A 2013 KME Severe Service All-Wheel Drive 100ft Rearmount Tower Ladder is now in service at Station 94.
About this creation
The aerial has a rescue basket, with an extended porch for aircraft operations. There is a 500lb Dry Chemical system located in the first roll-up compartment. A full complement of rescue tools located in the bumper. And two discharges on the bucket for ease of stretching a hose line, utilizing the waterway as a standpipe.
Responding from Station 4 on the airfield, Company 94 will be protecting much of the roadways leading to/from the terminals. The Tower is also equipped with a 15 kW generator on board. In addition to the heavy hydraulics, this Tower is fully ALS and does carry some technical rescue equipment. Tower 94 will be staffed at a minimum of 4 personnel, with at least one being a FF/Paramedic.
The next three photos show the dry chemical system.
First, the officer's side. The 150 foot hose reel is deployed from this side. The system is also charged from this side.
The system's tanks are located on the engineer's side of the transverse compartment.
Here a firefighter shows the hose partially deployed.
