Fighter jet
Prepare for a load of pictures.
About this creation
Here is my first jetplane, which i spent a month(april. it took me a long time before I started taking pictures of it) on building. the model isn't based of a real plane, but it does have some similarities. My goal for this model was to make it look as realistic as possible and give it as many features as I could come up with. One of the things this model lacks is a bit more sturdiness, because for example the nosecone always tends to fall of whenever something bumps in to it. the same goes fore the jet exhausts.
Unfortunatley for me i can't think of any name for it, so right now it is just a fighter jet.

In the process of building it only took about 7 attempts before0 I finally managed to make the wings look good.

The rear:

On this picture you can see that all the flaps work.

The canopy:

which opens:

the cockpit. I did make it so that there is room enough for a minifig, but i haven't taken any pictures of that. This was the area that i started with building.

The air brakes(I dont know if there are any actual planes with them on the bottom but i think it looks good)

Now for the landing gear. These took quite a while to build, since they have to be compact, strong enough to keep the model standing and being able to fold up. After many tries i did come up with a great result. Here i will show you how they are folded in steps.

front wheels:

step 1: open panels

step 2: fold up wheels

step 3: attach panel to wheels
a href="/image_zoom.php?mocid=364568&id=/user_images/81584/1373488260m">

step 4: detach bottom of panel

step 5: fold the wheels with panel forwards

the rear wheels:

step 1: open panel

step 2: fold wheels out
a href="/image_zoom.php?mocid=364568&id=/user_images/81584/1373488332m">

step 3: close panel
and youre done

And now we have come to the weaponry.(I didn't call it a fighter plane for nothing)

first of the miisiles. panel opens

and the arm holding the missile folds out

Prepare to launch missiles

when i first built this model i completely forgot to ad a machinegun to it. But i did manage to make room for one.

Now where's the machinegun? you might think.

here it is, underneath a panel.

And now we come to the flares. But since i at the time of building didn't know what flares looked like, I just made up something.

Here is the area where it is positioned:

and open up some panels

and here is the last picture and were done

here's a second plane In Colours. which i desided to make in a weekend.

I love it, especially the landing gear! The wings do need work, but other than that, beautiful! Send the design to the USAF! :) Excellent!

Awesome design. The main wings could use some work, but other than that, it's beautiful.

Excellent design! Very sleek, and I really like the landing gear, some of the best I've ever seen, and the weapons bays.

Oh These are really cool! And there's actually two of them! Great work designing the shape, though i would agree the wings are a bit wide. Perhaps slimming them by two studs while keeping the width would look better? :-) I love all the details though. I'm not sure a belly-airbrake would actually be pracical but it looks very cool with all brakes open. The movable landing gear is an awesome detail i didn't bother to put on my planes, and those internal missiles are a great idea too! Very awesome work all over, well done :-)

I really like the flare compartment and missile arm.

Very cool... however, I would make the wings more sleek and not as wide. They would also look better at a smaller angle than just straight out of the side of the plane. Over all... great build!!!

Nice lookin' birds there, Dude! But what I find especially interesting is how you photographed the black one so well. No easy task, for sure. Tips?

Very nice jet ,love the internal missile bay . Also love the refueling port most builders leave off . Finally I like the Retractable landing gear and the flare compartment . Great job

This looks excellent! Love all the working details! My only complaint is concerning the wings; they simply don't look sleek enough. Still, a nice 4/5!
