Deep in the abyss there is no light, no sound. Only you and you're will to survive.
On an average day Moaliki is found where he always it. Fishing
Phosphorus: Moa!!! The annual fish festival is tomorrow! We NEED the deep sea Ussal crab and Krothak for the main dish!
Moaliki: Relax Phos i got the crab trap all set to go I just need you're help with the suit.
Here help me put it on.
He dons the suit and he's ready to tackle the abyss. The suit provides him with many features. Being a Toa of water he does not suffer from the intense pressure of the deep sea but needing to be able to breath the suit holds air in its main tank in the back. The suit also has shoulder mounted lights to navigate the darkness, propellers to move through the water and a net launcher for whatever.
Dive Dive Dive!
He sets the crab trap and a hungry Ussal comes to investigate the sweet smelling treat inside.
Little does he know he's in way over his little head.
As Moaliki descends further into the deep he switches on his lighting systems.
What's this beast?
Suddenly out of the inky blackness a glowing blue light appears...
The largest Krothak Moaliki has ever seen darts out of the abyss straight for him!
Acting quickly Moaliki fires his net launcher to confuse the beast and grabs its snout to take out its primary sense of direction and orientation.
While the fish is confused Moaliki throws his mighty deep sea harpoon and spears the creature right below the eye.
With the job complete lets take a look at the moc. Here are the feet. I originally head the piraka webbed feet on here but they looked pretty terrible.
The lower legs. Designed to be super tanky looking and smooth.
The torso here is my favourite part. I really like the yellow horn pieces.
His head. Weird head design now has function with tubes connected to his face!
The arm. These where really tricky and i'm not totally happy with them still.
The hands. Designed to look like giant gloves hence the colour change.
The propellers and lights. The props where originally going to be motorized but I ran out of time. Also if you're wondering the entire reason for the crab trap is to store the battery box for the lights.
My favourite shot
Phosphorus: I don't care what they say about you Moaliki, you make one fantastic Krothak fin.
Bye All! Thanks for looking!
So Bio Cup round 2! I'm actually really happy with this. This thing had troubled beginnings as a Bio Shock/Old diving suit thing but eventually I decided to go with a more modern approach. Anyway I hope you all enjoyed! Hope to see you in the next round!
Love this. Poseability is still something, even by design they're not supposed to be. 9 points. I didn't seem to see it mentioned but what does N.A.U.T.I.L.U.S stand for? Never abbreviate unless the intention limits usable syntax.
A truly awesome design, I really like this! The only thing that prevents you from getting a 10 is you entry's unfortunate lack of poseability. Stil, a fine entry and one of the best of this round! Well done mate! Your score: 9
Awesome diving suit. The whole concept works, and I'm pleased you made that fishing rod ;) The suit is nice and bulky, which fits for a pressure-resistant concept and the lack of posability for legs is forgivable as such, as they would be hindered underwater anyway. The colors work well and it all works brilliantly. 9 points from me.
While Chro's work initially reminded me visually of a Depth Suit, you took that concept to a fully realized level. Liked that the story lent to that connection as well; an aquatic upgrade of extreme proportions! 8 points~
Nice diving suit, excellently done from any angle. I like how smoothly all of the armor flows together, and your suit is one of the few that matches and increases the impact of your character's color scheme. The only thing im not sure about are the hands (a bit blocky) and the protruding lights/net mechanism, but hey, it's a diving suit after all. Great job and godspeed to the next round!
Love it! Such a brilliant look, and love the joke with the giant angler fish... but my absolute favorite thing about the whole thing is the fact that it's called the Nautilus (I'm reading 20,000 leagues currently)
Ho ho, pretty interesting design we have here! I really like how you developed the diving suit idea, with the lights, the net blaster, the tubes for pressure/respiration, the air tank... My favourite part is probably the legs, I really like how you used those parts for the armor in the lower section. Amazing job. Good luck, my dear!
