My entry to the 2013 Bio Cup R3. Two of the most feared beings in Ragnus Magna being led by the Toa of Destruction!
About this creation
So, R3. Didn't think I would make it this far. But I did, so here they are. The theme for me is a war mount and a sidekick for your character. A link to my opponent's page, Dylan Mievis! This really is an honor. If I go down, I'm glad I could go down at the hands and parts of one of my favorite builders! Anyway, to the builds!
Hello! I am Mr. Z, here to introduce two of the most powerful and feared beings on the planet! I will introduce the smaller of the two so that he does not seem unimpressive compared to the beast.
This is Lecity, one of the Guardian's Envoys to the planet!
He is gifted with unlimited powers of electricity, and great strength and speed
However, this body is not his. He was given this body by his Guardian, who did not understand the concept of "one body."
So, he is awkward and clumsy. He is a matoran in a toa's body.
He met Dernek wandering in the desert, holding desperately holding onto the dying energy stone. Without it's energy, he had torn out of his suit and had driven himself into the desert once more.
Derenk attacked Lecity, who naturally zapped him. The power caused the suit's circuits to fuse with Dernek, allowing him to once again be whole. He still had to stay with Lecity or he would once again be cursed.
Grateful, Dernek asked Lecity to join him, but he refused unless Dernek could defeat him. Naturally, Dernek accepted his challenge.
What happened then was the greatest one-on-one battle never seen. Even with his spear of pure electrical energy, Lecity was unable to defeat the toa
Humbled, Lecity agreed to follow Dernek. He could even keep up with Dernek's kanohi of speed using his spear
They had many adventures, until they found the one thing on the planet that posed a serious challenge.
1st 4th Wall: So this guy is not my best work, but he is fair. This is a comparison to an inika build and an original toa build.
Zapp! Lecity! Stop hurting Bob!
"...something that posed a serious challenge."
Surprise! Bad Kitty is here, and he won't leave until he either bites your face off or you like this page!
I think numbers speak, so they will. Felis Horrifica is 13 inches tall or 33cm for the rest of the world, 12 inches or 30cm long without his tail, and 22 inches or 56 cm long with his tail
He is by far the biggest creation ever since I chibi'ed Mr. Z, and the one I am most proud of, besides the Kopaka revamp I have not yet posted.
So, my only concern is that I didn't take enough pictures. However, I'll let the ones I did take do the talking.
The different lighting is because I took these earlier inside. I forgot to take these outside, so here they are! His wicked (and deadly) tail.
It wasn't required, but just for you, Yuri, I added a waist that is able to pose!
See! Automatic ten points, Yuri!
Size comparison with Bob and Phil. Bob looks nervous.
Ack! For good reason! Bad kitty! Bad kitty! Spit out Phil! Bob is not a ball of twine!
Any way, before I was interrupted, the battle! Dernek took the Nightmare Cat alone, receiving many horrible wounds and dying several times.
Finally, the wise cat conceded. He spoke, much to the surprise of the two, and told them they had earned the right to ride the fasted being on all of Ragnus Magna.
So here he is! Dernek, triumphant!
Here is Lecity riding Bad Kitty alone.
Here are the two riding Kitty, as required.
Bye Wish me luck!
4th Wall (Again!):So, I was hoping for a dino-like creature, but it ended up being Bad Kitty. Also, I had a much thinner and stranger sidekick, but I decided the judges would not be impressed by him. Here he is, in all of his strange awesomeness!
Overall, I am very happy with the two. I just hope the pictures I took captured the awesomeness of Kitty. Thanks, Yuri! Anyhoo, wish me luck! Oh, and a link to the contest! The 2013 Bio Cup
great! Nice builds with nice designs, quite alien-ish and fast-looking. The sidekick is a bit simple and could use some rework on some areas, like lower legs, vut its decent. The mount is great. Although it could use an overall polishment on several parts, is a very interesting idea for a design, and I like it. Anyway, yeah, you should win by default, so congratulations, I guess ;)
As you know, we can't get there to see your MOC. While you're familiar with it, and know its general shape, size and proportions, we can only judge on what we can see. Now, I have nothing against your extreme closeups and dynamic angles, but I'd like to see at least a couple of simple full-figure shots to understand what I'm looking at. Take the first few pics here as an example http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/365251 See? once you know how the model is made, you can enjoy all the "artistic" shots. Anothe word of advice: if you get too close to your model, you get a sort of fisheye effect that distorts the picture. Try stepping back and zooming in. I'll be back to judge once you post the link.
