The T551E2A1 is the second version of the T551 Light tank, while both versions use the same chassis and suspension system, the E2A1 has a new rear-mounted oscilating turret. In order to accomodate the turret in the rear, the engine and transmission have been moved to the front with the driver's hatch and vision block in between. The drive sprocket has also been moved to the front accordingly.
About this creation
I've been challenged to build an oscilating turret on the T551E1 chassis by Matthew Sylvan. Hope you like it, Matthew!
The oscilating turret at work. The gun depression is decent, while the elevation is hindered by the rear of the turret
The engine grill and behind it the driver's hatch and vision device
The searchlight retains it's position even if the turret moves.
BTW, I think Matthew said he was going to be away for 2 weeks.
I like it

AMX 13 90 much? Love the new turret! Great improvements. It looks fast and maneuverable, has a decent gun, however doesn't look like it could take many hits. Perfect light tank. I suppose your tanks are more toward Russian and French design as opposed to my German and British resemblance...interesting.

I know my tanks can resemble others, but I honestly don't look for inspiration anywhere specific. I built the tank and only then I realised I just made a rip-off of AMX 13. I just follow my own design, and because the tanks I fancy the most are Russian and American, my designs can resemble those. Anyway thanks for the comments everyone! I'm still waiting Matthew's judgement on this!
Wow, i like this one much better, looks kind of like the AMX 13 90, is it an autoloader? Just 1 thing, you might want to make the turret a little bit wider and longer, not higher, just a suggestion, cause right now it looks like there's no spaace to fit the crew
