2013.08.06 Riverwoods Int'l Elevator Rescue
On August 6th, 2013 at 1117 hours, Tower 94 was dispatched to Terminal A for 2 people stuck in Freight Elevator 4 between the Lower Level and the First Floor. The power was shut off and locked out. The Chicago Box was opened and door keys used to try and open the door, without success. The crew then utilized the irons to force open the door, freeing the two very grateful occupants. A civilian submitted these cell phone photos to the fire department.
About this creation

Tower 94 has arrived on the scene, crew with tools are entering the Terminal.

Tower 94, a brand new 2013 KME Severe Service 100ft rearmount tower ladder with a 500 pound Halotron system on board and the heavy hydraulics in the bumper. Tower 94 is equipped with heavy hydraulics to allow Squad 9 to stay on the west side of the airfield more.

Crew has taken to the irons to open the door.

The door has been forced and the two occupants are very happy humans to see daylight again!

Captain Thompson and airport security asking the two occupants if they need any medical attention, which they refused.

D, I love this!! I love the uniqueness of the incident and tower!! I should have 2 new Crash Rescues up soon. One is a P-15 based off of Grissom AFB's.

Thanks Gunnar! I wanted to change it up a bit. A P-15? Can't wait to see it, I have revamped my M-4000 (the civilian version of a P-15) and just need to letter it and repost it...

Quoting cyberfrank 2010 I love the action and technicality of this piece, just better pics and highier quality of figs [hairpieces] would be bliss!
Thanks, hair has been something I have not really invested in. The quality of the pics is explained in the narrative, "cell phone pictures." Thus to take the pictures I used a cellphone, and despite popular belief, not everyone has a smart phone...so you get grainy photos as part of the "story."

Quoting BrickCity101 11 Awesome work D! Not many elevator entrapments on here. (If any). Tower 94 looks great! Overall, great work! BTW, why did you upload 2 of these?
Thanks!! I was not aware that I uploaded the incident twice...thanks though, I have eliminated the duplicate.

Quoting Matt Jacobsen LOL This is awesome! I thought at first when you described it on LMFD it was going to be just shots of the ff's entering the building and the ladder outside. The elevator you built was awesome! Great job, very original!
Thanks Matt! Well, you hit my original idea right on the head, but I figured that was sort of silly to post and decided to build a mock-up of an elevator and hallway. I wanted to break the monotony of fires, pin-jobs and fires.
