Motorcycle trailer
Trailer built from Technic for carrying Technic motorcycles.
About this creation

Close up of bike's front wheel in wedge at front of trailer.

View of front of trailer from above, the blue bars on the right form a wedge that the front tyre of the bike sticks into, whilst the hinged blue plate to the left keeps the front wheel in place.

The swivelling jockey wheel is more for show - it supports the trailer when lowered, but raising it is quite a hassle as it has to be dismantled !

Ramp is more effective. The objects on the surface next to the ramp are the locking pins that keep the ramp upright when the trailer is towed.

The Truck pulling the dirt bike. The Truck has had a few tweaks, including new rear mudguards.

Trailers need to be towed by vehicles with towbars, so I had to add these to a few of my vehicles. Above is a close up of the towbar on my yellow Truck. The towing ball is made from one of the steering arms from the Dakota Wrecker 8858, secured in place using a screwed rod and nuts (similar to those used in the turntables of the pneumatic JCB and crane fro the late 1980s).
(The truck now has a tie bar on the rear axle for added stability.)

My modified 8860 with front suspension got a towbar too !

Close up of towbar on my 8860, using an old ball joint from a Lego Town trailer from the 1980s, turned on its end and kept in place by a combination of plates and pegs.

The V6 Volvo-type car pulling the V6 faired bike on a trailer.

Above is a close up of the tow bar on the Volvo, very similar design to that used o my yellow Truck, employing the steering arm from the Dakota Wrecker.

Here follows, shots of all my other surviving bikes on the trailer to demonstrate its verstility in accommodating different sizes and shapes of bikes.

Cheers - I do actually have the 8417 - its bits now shared out among other models - and I do think the chopper model was pretty good, and a fine example of the B model being better than the "main" one !
Quoting MortalSwordsman . A fine trailer and a fine collection of bikes. You have a few that I dont have but I notice you dont have 8417. Any reason? The main model is not so good but the second model (chopper) is one of my favourite models.

Good stuff, and a very nice collection of bikes you have there. And you can't go wrong with an 8860 :-)
