70707 Eradicator Mech Alternate Mode
Fully transformable space jet to mech , made from parts from set 70707 mech sans the critters
About this creation

Thic MOC is made from the parts from set
70707 Eradicator Mech
. Not only that.... the parts were taken from ONLY the white mech ,leaving the
other 2 critters untouched. Actually I plan to make full use of all the parts
from this set, but was "intercepted" during disassembly by my spouse to leave
the critters alone coz she liked 'em. Ah well.. that's less 100 parts for me to
utilise I guess.

I've taken about 2 days over the last weekend to complete this MOC. Just like
most of my LEGO-formers , It's fully transformable into a space jet without
separation of parts.

Trivia:

  • Even though I'm happy to see many bracket parts at my disposal... but
the set offered me pretty minimal numbers of basic plates (the garden
    variety 1 x 4 or 1 x 6 plates)...  thats why I have to be very frugal
in building the mech legs and resorted to using technic beams to form the
    thighs.

  • The balljoints forming the knees is a bit wobbly and compounded by the
jet cockpit folded to the back of this mech , limiting it's stabiliy  .
I have to lean him against the wall during photoshoot for some action poses.

  • This is the first LEGO-former I made using parts from a single official
LEGO set. Actually I intended to merge this set with 70701 Swarm
    Interceptor
and crank something up. But after evaluating the parts from
set 70707 at a glance... it seemed to offer good selection of parts to get
my started , I guess. So, finally this MOC is born!

I think I'll leave this on the display shelf before compiling the
instructions. For you guys who are interested to know the instructions to build
this MOC... stop by my blog about 1-2 weeks later.  ~tata !

That's amazing! It looks great in both modes, is transformable and you only used the mech parts of the set - Wow! Great job! :-))

Instructions are out guys! (link below) http://alanyuppie.blogspot.com/2013/10/lego-70707-eradicator-mech-alternate.html I've been lying low without any MOC WIP yet due to heavy work commitments. I think I'll start something soon or else I'm gonna go insane.

Well, it's about time! Seriously, I've been waiting for you to make another creation. Well, here one finally is, and a fantastic one at that. If there was an option to add as a fave builder twice, then I'd be pressing it...
