Zam Wesell's KYD-21 blaster pistol from Star Wars!
About this creation
A replica of the KYD-21 blaster pistol from Attack of the Clones, as used by the assassin Zam Wesell. The model features a spring-powered trigger (my simplest trigger assembly ever) and push-in ‘igniter pin.’
I really like going back and revisiting some of my old models with new techniques; I originally built Zam’s pistol in 2007 when I was hyped up on the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. It was the second ever gun I built from reference and the first model I created building instructions for. I might try my hand at some of the other Star Wars blasters, as there are so many great designs to choose from!
For those of you who have been waiting over a year to see my next real-life-inspired gun, I am pleased to announce that I have resumed construction of my light machine gun, which I hope to post next month.

Amazing Design. Love the awesome trigger mechanism.
Thanks for the comment, Sean! It was nice to find a use for that old spring element, and it really simplified the entire assembly; none of my other trigger mechanisms can be taken apart like that and put back together without a lot of time and effort. This one just clicks right back into place.
This. This is what I've been waiting for!(Aside from you making that Uzi, of course) Cole Edmondon making a Star Wars weapon. I, personally, would be happy if you made many more Star Wars weapons, even if that means that you won't post real weapons for awhile. That's just my opinion though, just though I'd throw it out there.
