Category: Apocalypse now
"Build a vignette based on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (war, hunger, disease, death)."
Another entry for the annual MOCOlympics here. I had a lot of fun with this category (all lies. This was actually really hard, but I have to say that I had fun in order to impress the judges) and it definitely stretched me, though mostly for pieces as most are used up in hmm, er, umm... another project which will be posted sometime soon. I think my favorite part of this build is just sitting back and looking at it honestly. I was really pleased with how the photography came out. This was one of my first times using a non-white background and I really like the outcome.
Anyhow, good luck to James! You whipped out a fantastic entry. The sculpting in your horses is beautiful. For the rest of you who haven't seen his entry, go follow the link above and check it out!
Thank you judges for the time and effort you guys pour into the contest. God bless you all! Enjoy!
SOLI DEO GLORIA!
For those of you doubters who don't think I made the scroll out of LEGO. Feast yer eyes!
Holy Apocalypse MOC! I especially like the winged white horse, nice DIY wings, far superior than some of the stock options Lego has given us for this. Also, you have a really vivid color combination and the disk shaped base is a nice touch showing you went the extra mile as opposed to just sticking it all on a baseplate. Impressive Build!
That's so cool! The details on the doorway and in the city are incredible! The scenery is awesome as well! I love how you captioned the four horsemen! I can never remember which is which, but the white horseman is my favorite! You are an excellent builder Blake!
Of course this is gorgeous, Blake. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. The wings are very well done. That tree is about as gnarly a tree as I've ever seen and some of the most effective FP yet. So well done.
Congratulations, Blake, you got my vote. I'm glad you went all the way and created a surrounding that doesn't simply display the horses, but is an excellent piece of work in itself. Since it was my category idea, I'm happy to see an entry that matches my notion.
Excellent work Blake. The first thing I notice is the superb use of colour, the dark tans of the build work wondrously with the red backdrop. Of course, the build itself approaches perfection. The round base is effective, though I feel that the lower section should be a tad thicker so that it protrudes out rather than leaving the top bit overhanging. That's probably the main thing that bugs me about this build, as the shadow cast challenges the visual realism. However, the scene itself is superb. Great placement of the horsemen, they look like they're coming right off the screen. Kudos on the FP and such as well, an awesome touch. You have my vote, best of luck with the other judges!
A stunning build in almost every way. The perspective through the columns for me seals this as an amazing build, capturing the division between worlds perfectly. Cool column and architecture work add to the presentation. The four horsemen each have unique characters with disease standing out as particularly creepy. You are getting the picture I like this a lot! You've got my vote.
Wow what a fantastic build. I love the architecture! All the detail along the roof line beautiful. The four horsemn look awesome . I like the perspective shoot looking in just perfect . The red background just screams the end is coming!
