Built for the 2013 MOCOlympics, round 2. My honorable opponent is John Daniels and my category: "Smack MOC?!
One of the MocOlympics' trademarks is the Smack Talk Thread. While it's all good and fun to verbally batter your fellow contestants to pieces, what if you actually used pieces? Build a MOC of yourself somehow "smacking" your opponent."
Bob: "Hello, ladies and gentleman, I'm Bob the inconceivably invincible, and I'm here today to inform you that we are on the verge of a terrible crisis. And this crisis has a name: John Daniels. He may seem to you like just another round of the block TFOL, but I have evidence that he is planning on unleashing unprecedented amounts of Mega Bloks into the MOCing community."
Bob: "What has lead me to this dismal conclusion? Well, the evidence comes from a form of radiation called MB waves. MB waves, as you may already know, are emitted by Mega Bloks, and have been shown to significantly increase risk of brain cancer."
Bob: "I have been tracing MB wave emissions from the Daniels home for the past 12 years, and, as you can see from the graph, they have increased to preposterous levels in recent years. This amount of radiation is five times higher than the amount considered safe by the Department of Mega Blok Affairs."
Bob: "Fortunately, I have a plan to stop John Daniels's diabolical plan. I have designed the Mach 4 Mega Blok Destruction Mini-Mech, or just the BlokBuster for short. Equipped with a high powered Mega Blok Nullifier Cannon I feel confident that I can prevent John before it's too late."
Bob: "Let's go bust some Mega Bloks!"
John Daniels: "MEGA BLOKZ!!"
Bob: "The game's up, John. I have you trapped. Surrender now and submit to the immediate destruction of your entire Mega Blok collection, or face up to 47 years in prison and a $250,000 fine."
John: "NOOOOO! My life is ruined!"
Yet again, I'm unsatisfied. I procrastinated 'til the last minute on my build, so it wasn't as sophisticated as I was hoping for. Also, I'm horrible at smacking to begin with.
I know it's not very satisfying to win just because the opponent doesn't show up, but let me assure you, you made me laugh out loud several times while going through your entry. Other than that, I like your clean and unobtrusive design. Great work and good luck in Round 3.
Haha, good job Bob! Megablox; That's a pretty common Smack in the LEGO community but still a rather stinging one... The power armor and the graph both look awesome! I'm sorry that I was unable to be a proper opponent, but I wish you a great amount of luck in the next round! --John
