Build a LEGO figure (from your country!) competing in some Olympic sport. Be it pole vaulting, bobsledding, or that one sport we're all still wondering about...ah yes, curling! We want to see what kind of athlete you can bring to this year's MocOlympics!
I chose to build a scene of equestrian jumping! This wasma real challenge because a lego molded horse couldn't get the look of a horse jumping properly, forcing me to make a brickbuilt horse.
The horse is definitely the highlight of the build. I am very proud of the design. The most difficult part was the head because of the shaping. It probably took me an hour to come up with its design.
The equestrian's adoring crowd!
The giant light is for shows at night! The olympics sign is printed because I didn't know how to make a brickbuilt version.
Thanks for looking! Please rate and comment! Remember to stop by my model commissiong group and consider commissioning me a model!
Hey Stephen, sorry it has taken a while to comment but i've been wrapped up in bed feeling really ill for a couple of days. Now i'm up and about and the result is all done! Commiserations on the result. I think you made a great job on the horse and conveying a sense of motion really well - I certainly think you had me beat on the 'action' part of the challenge. I see one or two comments about photography, and while I don't think it's bad it's certainly well worth taking as much time as you can, as many photos as you can and edit the best. If you can stand to take some advice from an old fogey like me, check out some of my earliest builds and compare them to my most recent - my photography was not so good to put it mildly! Investment in a light tent, taking my time, experimenting with lights and the camera to get the best out of them - all have seen little increases in the quality so while i'm still not the best, they do a good job of 'selling' the build for me. I should also point out my wife really liked your build too and i/ we look forward to seeing what you produce in the future!
Both you and your opponent took unexpected approaches to this category. In my opinion, your opponent just edged you out on this one. My vote goes to Delatron 3000. Good effort though, and best of luck with the other judges!
Quoting Alphonsus Liguori
When I first saw the cover picture, I actually thought this was a speeder bike of some kind! Upon closer examination, though, this is a really nice brickbuilt horse! Good luck!
