About this creation
Well here is the first of the 2 sets I'm going to be reviewing in this moc, "76000 Arctic Batman vs Mr. Freeze: Aquaman On Ice."
I'd like to start with the name... What's up with it?! It sounds like a kiddies ice rink show!
Anyway, this is what you get. The box, one instruction booklet, a tiny useless comic and the set itself.
Here we see Aquaman ("I hate Aquaman. Aquaman sucks.") breaking out of his icy prison. He fits inside pretty nicely but he can't hold his trident at the same time, you have to just rest it either behind or in front of him. The mechanism works quite well for his break out though.
The Bat-Ski. A neat little design in all fairness it follows the traditional colour scheme of Black and yellow.
One of the play features is pressing the button on the back and the pizzas, I mean spinning blades, come flying out. Again, to be fair to Lego, it's works pretty well.
Here is the rear end (teehee). I'm not sure whether these are meant to be lights or bombs. I'm assuming the latter but there is no way of detaching them... other than simply unclipping them.
Here are the three figures in the set. Aquaman is a ncie new figure. He features a duel-sided face, one angry (pictured here) and another where he just looks mildly annoyed. White Batman is pretty cool. Nice is you want to create your own Batman suit collection. Same two-sided face as the others sets. Mr. Freeze is the stand-out figure in this set though. He looks very much like his "Arkham City" interpretation but that is in no way a bad thing. He looks great although most of his chest and back printing are covered up by the cumbersome Atlantis-re-coloured breathing suit. He has a cool face, but it's only one sided. Lego missed out here to include a more normal face for him.

A really good little set. I highly recommend it. The figures are the stand out factor for buying this set, but as is the way with every set these days. The Bat-Ski is pretty cool and overall it's just really good. Also great fun if you like to actually play with your sets. At £19.99 it's really worth it.
And now the second set of the review, "76001 The Bat vs bane: Tumbler Chase." Once again, I'll start with the name; Why is it so long?! What is it with Lego giving their Superheroes sets really long names?! Anyway, this is the box, 2 instruction booklets, the same comic as in the previous set and the set itself.
Okay, The Tumbler. This is a HUGE disappointment. It's tiny, it's useless and is nothing like the film. As you can see, all of the details are stickers, the canopy opens to fit a single figure inside and you get two flick-fire missiles.
It's tiny, blocky in build and appearance and really basic. A massive letdown.
Anyway, onto The Bat.... I'd love to be positive but I really can't. Once again, it's flimsy, basic and nothing like the film.
Okay, at least it can fit two figures inside, but the cockpit is really square and the arms go floppy.
This is the underside of the rear end. I mean, why, Lego? Why? I looks awful and unfinished. Plus, the main feature of The Bat in the film is it's huge underneath rotor... where is that on this set? Oh that's right, there isn't one!
You get a flick-fire missile on each arm.
The only redeeming feature from this set is the figures (as per usual.) Commissioner Gordon is nicely done. He has two faces, this one and the reverse is him looking rather scared. The film version of Batman is also nicely made. Still just to usual two faces though. Bane is great but his head is a letdown. He just appears to be bald on top rather than his mask going all the way over. And he does appear to be the smallest of the three figures which isn't good.

Don't buy it unless it's really cheap or you NEEEEED the figures. Simple as that. Both vehicles are blocky and nothing like they look in the film. The figures are nice but not worth the asking price. I got this at a tenner off RRP and it's not even worth that. Wait for the clearance sales.
Thanks for viewing, I hope this has been useful. Anybody get the Aquaman joker reference? Please comment, rate and enjoy!
