This small concert grand piano was built for my piano teacher and given to him on my senior recital. I performed Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G minor, op. 23, no. 5. I have been taking piano lessons and performing in annual recitals for the past 12 years. I cannot express how much of an impact music has had in my life.
In appreciation of my teacher, I dedicate this build to him. If I can manage to get my act together and order some more pieces, there may be a similar model popping up in Creations4Charity.
This build was designed to be simple and evocative. It is not in any way the most accurate or detailed piano out there (I can direct you to billions of others if you would like, haha), but I chose to build a simple, strong piano.
I've been playing the piano since I was four, so this really strikes me as well done. It's a great gift to give your teacher, I might want to give my teacher something similar now :) Very well shaped and it looks really accurate! Well done!
I like it

well, we have things in common, i like to play piano too, only i didnt take lessons. I play alot of songs. but most of them i learned myself, by hearing, not by any kind of sheet music or lessons. but we have things in common, so check out my mocpages if you wish.
This MOC actually made me to make new account so I can comment on it. The piano (and chair) is just flawless, I totally love how you made the interior out of gate. The filter picture has really sweet feel in it.
P.S.: Hope you still remember me.
Blake, What you did and what you wrote is so inspired and so moving! You did a magnificent job on this piano and you must be one hot pianist to play Rachmaninoff. Yes, music is sooo good for the soul. I think your love of music and your appreciation for your teacher shows in the essence and beauty of your piano.
A very thoughtful and creative way to say thanks for all the years of training! I am sure it will be given a special place in his/her home! And a very detailed piece! I love the bench and attention to the harp inside and music stand! Bravo! quite a distance from CHOPSTICKS!
