Proudly I present my "total black" VOLVO F16 GLOBETROTTER. My LEGO model is the "MY" '87. This truck series was a tremendous success for Volvo, over 200.000 units were manufactured between 1977 and 1993. Enjoy!
About this creation
As for the first SCANIA I built, for the VOLVO F12 too I could’t resist to give it a “brother”. So copying the chassis, the engine and the whole ratio of the F12, I started building the VOLVO F16 Globetrotter. The F16 is the second upgrade of F10/F12 series that comes in 1987.
To distinguish more the two models I chosen the Globetrotter version, the one with the upturned roof that represented a revolution at the beginning of the eighties.
Above: the back of the "black" with the details such as the pneumatic air cables, the vertical exhaust pipe and the auxiliary headlight. Below: the cab can be tilted up and beneath it is positioned the powerful in line 6 cylinders engine coupled with the gearbox.
The doors can be fully opened such as my other 1/13 scale models.
Below a composition which shows the numerous details of the truck.
IKEA style for my classic VOLVO: two icons of Nordic design.
A nice surprise, my black VOLVO on The Lego Car Blog, one of the more known and popular Lego blogs around. Thanks TLCB!
This is so good. Does not look like it was made with Lego.
I like it

Great build with loads of great details. I agree with Tommy S. -- I like the way you built the rear wheel guards out of angled plates, rather than using curved pieces, which might not have matched the tires as well. I also really like the way you did the exhaust stack and the front grille.
