Previously on The Cult: Alexander's men make preparations to return to hiding; the remainder of Sidus' team return from their mission.
About this creation
Alexander: You've returned- what's this? Only four of you have come back?
Julius: We couldn't breach their defenses. We needed more men.
Alexander: Deere! What happened?
Sidus: Multiple gunshot wounds. She needs to see Marc.
Alexander: How? How did this happen? We spent over a month preparing and this is the outcome?
Alexander: Dismiss everyone except Marc and the wounded. The Underground does not tolerate long-term squads.
Sidus: Sir, I don't believe that is an option.
Sidus: What happened today has only proven that we need more men. The Underground cannot fight this war on its own.
Alexander: Today has given us a brutal reminder of why the Underground exists. Open warfare, which we tried to imitate, cannot defeat the Shining Path.
Sidus: Sir, if we could only reach the population, the people of Catron! The Path can only fight so many fronts - if we had their help...
Alexander: The Underground operates on secrecy, Sidus. You know this well. Our strength lies in our secrecy. The people's help will destroy what hope we have. War against this cult will not succeed unless alternative tactics are adopted.
Sidus: We simply do not have the manpower to fight them! Today we destroy a munitions cache, the next day they build two more! The dispersed squads of the Underground cannot overpower the organization of the Shining Path!
Alexander: This discussion is over, Sidus. Begin moving out.
Sidus: We have the technology! Sara can break into public communications systems - we can feed the rebellion that is trapped in the hearts of so many Catronians!
Alexander: Enough! You have been dismissed. Leave this place!
Glen: With all due respect sir...
Glen: Sidus is right. Open revolt is the only way we can defeat the Shining Path. I have fought a guerilla war against them for far too long. I have lost my team, my companions, my home fighting them. It is time we stopped fighting this war alone. There are millions, tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions of people loyal to Catron in our midst, willing to fight but deterred by the iron fist of the cult. A spark is all we need to kindle the flame of rebellion in them, and we, the Underground, we can create that spark!
Alexander: I see. I am alone. You will not stand up for the principles of the Underground, and neither will Sidus. You both have wandered from the only haven from which we can fight the Shining Path. But if this truly is the will of the people...then so shall it be.
Alexander: So...shall it be.
