This creation is for a contest between me and Chi warrior. This is the Pirate hideout, a creation that I hope looks like a classic pirate set.
About this creation
This is the Pirate hideout. The set features 7 figures,a boat, a firing cannon, and tons of accessories. The set even has a realistic trapped door! I hope you like this creation, and are inspired by it, and if not, I at least had fun making it. Best of luck to you Chi warrior!
You did such a great job of making it look like a classic set...then I look at the landscape and the feel is ruíned. The way you did the sand is fine since I see you did it as a subsitute for your (I assume) lack of the old blended yellow and blue base, but the rockwork just doesn't look like an old set's rockwork (an old set would be more brick based and probably have some function, like coins hidden inside or something). Just a side note, was tan available back then. You did do a good job including some nice functions though, so that somewhat makes up for the landscape. That and the fact that your level of detail was definitely superior to your opponent's wins you my vote. (this comment seems so negative looking back on it...I really did like your entry a lot, despite what it may seem like...)
This really sets the tone of a classic set! Well done with the details while keeping it to a minimum like the classic sets seem to have done. You get my vote! Thanks for doing a MOC-off through i Brick contests!
