A slight upgrade to the Ogre Mech, the primary change is the cammo paint scheme. The armament stays unchanged ( 40 mm coilgun, high-powered laser, 2 double grenade launchers, missile pod). Sadly, due to the active cammo, few people will ever get to see the stylish new coloring.
An upgrade to our Stalker mech: all new weapon systems, minor body changes, and a new paint scheme. The controversial light coil gun has been removed and replaced by a mech-sized 50mm "rifle" (really a portable coilgun). The old laser design was replaced with our newer and more practical design, and the missile amount has been upped by 2 to a total of 6.
This is our new Vanguard Mech, an agile medium mech designed to be a highly mobile while retaining heavy firepower. Vanguard mechs are armored with a combination of nanocrystaline alloys, classified composites, and carbon nanotubes. Protection is also improved due to the laser which is used both offensively and defensively.
Besides the laser, Vanguard mechs are armed 2 triple missile boxes, as well as modular attachments on it's arms and sides to accept a wide variety of attachments. However, the standard loadout is generally a 20 mm coilgun and a 40 mm railgun similar to the one used by the Ogre. The mech is fully capable of melee combat if needed.
However, the main selling point of the Vanguard mech is its "jetpacks", twin thrusters combining repulsers and het engines attached to its back giving it the ability to make short flights or massive jumps. These thrusters also give it the capability to sprint far faster than most other mechs. It is rumored that these jets also allow for direct combat drops from transport aircraft.
A height comparison to various infantry types. The vanguard mechs turn out to be about exactly 20 feet tall.
An anti-infantry variant that drops the 40mm railgun in favor of a second rapid-fire coilgun.
(note: any resemblance to the XV8 Crisis Battlesuit is entirely uncoincidental)
