Well, after failing to complete the something-or-other creations of Doctor Who, I realised how bad my daleks looked. So, I redesigned them. There's nothing else to say, really. I designed three kinds of them, and they look a lot better than the last ones. Here we go...
About this creation
Here's just an overview of the Daleks. I'm finding it a lot easier to make things in their proper colours in LDD while still being purchasable (is that even a word?) lately.
The first is the basic Dalek that appears in most episodes. It has the same articulation as the previous version, but it looks better.
It was a bit hard to make the toilet plunger, but it still looks okay. The things on the side are teleportation devices. I added them on purely for the purpose of making him look cooler.
The head looks a lot better, and I'm glad I updated it.
The second Dalek is the Special Weapons Dalek. It appeared in an episode with the 7th Doctor called the Remembrance of the Daleks, and made a cameo appearance in the Asylum of the Daleks with Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor.
Unlike the other Daleks, it lacks the eyestalk, and the standard death ray and toilet plunger are replaced with a large cannon.
The teleporters have been replaced on this Dalek with side cannons. They can fold out for extra firepower, but I forgot to take the photos to show it.
Finally, we have the Spider Dalek. This Dalek never appeared in the actual series, but there are rumors of it being mentioned in novels. It's basically a dalek that has legs in any number between 4 and eight. The only actual drawings I could find were on deviantart, along with some rather creepy pictures of anime girl daleks (Dalek chan), and it still gives me nightmares.
The Dalek is made entirely from my imagination. The legs have pretty good articulation, and I can imagine it going out onto the battlefield shouting 'OBLITERATE!' instead of 'exterminate', since he's so huge.
I was planning on putting the cannon on the bottom, but it ended up looking a bit, er, suggestive. It still turned out cool, though.
Well, that's it! Don't forget to like comment and add me as a favourite builder. And as always, happy building!
