Mr Peabody of Mr. Peabody's Improbable History from the Rocky and Bulliwinkle show. - Wayback WABAC Time Machine Inventor and Time Traveller
About this creation
The head of Mr. Peabody from the 1960's cartoon TV series "The Rocky and Bulliwinkle Show" and also the upcoming Dreamwork's movie based on that cartoon character "Mr. Peabody and Sherman." Mr. Peabody is suppose to be the world's smartest talking dog and the inventor of the WABAC (pronounced Way-Back) time machine which he and his boy Sherman use to visit famous people in history. Mr Peabody is known for making very dry puns about famous people and historical events - most of which are untrue.
In this version I try to capture the essence of Mr Peabody: the fluffy pompadour hairstyle, big-eyebrows-big round eyeglasses-big nose-combination (aka Groucho Marx translated into a dog like demeanor), moving mouth, floppy ears, and red bow tie.
Mr. Peabody has moveable eyebrows, mouth, and ears. The eyeglasses can be removed, too.
I haven't decided on how to make the body - or how I to animate it.
I've also made the head of his pet boy Sherman, too. Ran out of inverted 45 degree slope beige bricks for Sherman - so he's really only a bas relief sculpture. Beyond the red/orange hair, Sherman is suppose to have big round innocent looking eyes that quite often look confused and sometimes are a bit cross-eyed. Sherman also has big round eyeglasses like Mr. Peabody over a small nose. Sherman traditionally plays Mr Peabody's comic straight man asking a opening question that results in one of Mr' Peabody's puns. For example,
Sherman: "How did you ever fix the Wabac machine in Ancient Troy?"
Mr. Peabody: "You simple have to Troy, Troy, and Troy again."
Sherman: "I don't get it."
Below is a photo of our boy Sherman..
When I get a chance -I'll do their bodies ... heheheh :-)
Walter, fabulous rendering of Mr. Peabody and Sherman! These MOCs hit a big soft spot for me, as I still consider Rocky and Bullwinkle the greatest cartoon show in human history. When will we get to see your Boris and Natasha?
Quoting El Barto !
Excellent! Are you going to do one of his pet boy, Sherman?
Yes. During the recent snow storm I finally took the time to design a head for Mr. Peabody's pet boy Sherman. I've got his most of his facial features solved but I haven't got a articulating mouth. Part wise he's actually a tougher build because I have to approximate his skin tone for his face.
