The Insurgency World Challenge: The Jewel
WARNING: SIMULATED BLOOD IN THIS MOC
About this creation
Cole has been sent on an official mission for the Marauders via a mysterious letter. Out of the many GI outposts on Iapra, one munitions factory has an drawn an interest to the Marauders. The power of the base is supplied by a rare blood red crystal, of which only three have ever been found. The mission is simple: Intrude the base, get the crystal, get out. Cole has accepted the mission on the grounds that he gets to keep the jewel. The faction begrudgingly accepts, and Cole is on his way.

The Security guard is lazily guarding the jewel WHEN SUDDENLY

COLE DRAWS HIS EMERALD SWORD AND, MIGHT I ADD VIOLENTLY, CUTS THE THROAT OF THE GI GUARD.

"Huh, you'd expect the power source of the factory might have just a bit more security," Cole says, walking towards the jewel.

Cole slowly brings his hands to the jewel, and snatches it from the pedestal.

He hurriedly packs the body into the can next to the archway, with only the slightest amount of blood dripping from his foot, and runs as the power drains from the facility.

Front of the build. Pretty!

Back of the build. Not so pretty!

4th wall:
I like the build, the only real problem I have with it is the green baseplate I tried so desperately to hide from the pictures. I the GI is supposed to be smooth and without many greebles, but I thought it fit, for an ammunition factory.

Mr. Holman, this is a very good, very straight forward MOC. You create a very detailed scene with a relatively small number of parts. Well done. The warning about blood might be a little over cautious, but it is well meant. It’s usually best to err on the side of caution, so again, well done. I offer three recommendations for improving your next MOC. First, only use one colon “:” in any title. Right now, it simply looks like a MOC with three names, and for MOCs, one name is better than three. Second, increase the light in your photos. The white background is fine, but I bet more light would really make your images sharper and… well… brighter. Don’t be afraid to try taking pics of your next MOC in direct sun light. It might make your stuff look even better. Third, about the need to cover the green base plate, try building a floor out of bricks turned on their side. A SNOT floor can be a great way to escape “The Base Plate Blues”. Bricks are the one part most of us have a lot of. So use them for the floor AND the walls. Remember, the walls can just SIT on the floor (gravity is your friend). I hope you find some of these ideas helpful, and I look forward to your next effort. Attack!

Quoting Toa Chains
How did you get a set from THAT far away (I'm surprised ninjago will run for that long.....JK) :P Nice moc! I really like Cole and the simplicity of the build!
They're already out over here in the US, more specifically, Colorado!

Quoting Cole Holmen Cole's maks comes from the new 2104 Ninjago sets! So does his hair and sword.

Good job! A bit of advice on the greebles- try to concentrate them in one part of the scene. When they're spread out, it just looks messy and doesn't contrast well with the smooth regular wall :)

Quoting George Marshall Looks great! I like the design for the guard, very GI-like. And this doesn't need a Parental Guidance warning, that mostly applies to cursing and stuff. I'd suggest you take it off, as it scares away people. Anyways, great job!
Good to know, I'll take it off, but I figured I'd added it to begin with because of how puritan-ish mocpages seemed to be.

A parental warning for blood! Everybody uses blood! This really doesn't need a parental warning, but great moc!
