Originally I had a reconnaissance submarine in mind, the prototype did not even feature a canopy.
The blue color would enhance its invisibility. The prototype didn't have the large tail wings and it kind of looked like a grasshopper hence the name Mantis (because naming it grashopper would be silly).
The end result however looks much more like a research submersible.
I hope you like it.
The 'cement truck' panels can be detached to get a small window to the interior.
it looks incredible! the shapes are very sleek, and it looks modern realistic, I would have loved to see it in an underwater scene, btw, I have succeed in getting aquanauts kits, I should do a base with subs as soon as I have time.
This must be one of the best submarines I've ever seen, because it mixes futuristic fantasy with the present so well. Also, anything with a canopy window in the front gets my instant affection. The cement truck pieces work really well on the side, it gives the sub a very smooth round look. Superb!
