A two-alarm fire broke out in the third floor of GE shopping center Sunday noon, sending plumes of smoke into the air and forcing shoppers and store clerks outside while firefighters brought the blaze under control.
No one was injured in the fire that broke out about 1:15 p.m. at the iconic shopping center on 1st Ave, fire department spokesman Christoph Smiler said. The fire was extinguished in about three hours. Fire marshals are investigating the cause, Smiler said.
Witnesses told local media they saw heavy smoke on the E48th Street side of the building, which covers an entire city block and has 4 levels. Dozens of onlookers gathered near the store to watch the spectacle.
Hope you like my first building fire scene ;) Thanks for watching, rating and commenting. Suggestions very welcome.
About this creation
This is my first try on a working building fire. Some details are missing like the hoses, working ladders and some other stuff. But like i said, it was my first try on such a scene.

Quoting Jonathan Lopes
This means a lot to me from such a great builder like you Jonathan. Thank you very much :) Made a TDA some years ago with working steering axle at the trailer http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/299897 But it's old and needs to be refurbished ;) Thanks for your suggestion mate.
Quoting Cj Moyer
Thank you very much for your nice comment Cj :) Yeah was thinking about white cotton but like you said, it doesn't look like real smoke. So i used felt wool in three different colours. White, grey and black.

Sure can you make a suggestion ;) Thank you really much for it and also for your great comment. I'm happy that you like it so much mate :) Yeah i know that and i was searching yesterday after some usable shoelaces. But sadly i couldn't find some which i don't need at the moment. The next big one will contain much more details! Thank you very much again for all the tips :)

Hey Martijn my good friend. Thank you very much for your kind comment. I'm glad that you like it. Lol, yeah the certain pantsless guy is missing. Too bad. But surprises cannot be ruled out at the next incident ;) Now i have a nice idea. Thanks again ;)

Hey Frank, thaaank you for your big compliment! I'm really happy that you like it so much. Yeah, there is more to come in the future because i'm planning a similar incident with more details and equipment like hoses which are missed at this one. Eventually as a story ;) Hope it will work ;)
An excellent first incident. Cant wait to see more from you. If I might make a suggestion, Shoelaces from infant sneakers scales out to 1 1/2 handline. Cut the tips in half and join them with pieces of sheathing from 16 or 14 gauge speaker wire. then paint them silver would look fantastic with minifigure scale. A lot of people use shoelaces to simulate hose but most use too wide a lace to look realistic. hope this gives you some ideas. whatever you do I know it will look fantastic.
I like it

Nice incident you've got going there Sven.
I'm only missing a certain pantsless guy xD
Keep it up!
ohhh yeah! promising premiere! great fire effect, and the narration can t be better than from a real fireman, I m thrilled you re actually going for it, you have everything to make a successful-convincing emergency, city, civilians, vehicles, superb emergency equipment, and most of all...real experience at the technical level, I just can t wait until you hatch a full one!
