This is the best, most economically built microscale Minas Tirith that I have ever laid eyes upon! If it was within my powers I would appoint you as chief architect to the Steward of Gondor! (I started making my own Minas Tirith but am only 1% done!) Congratulations on winning the MOC Olympics! I am amazed at the vast variety of MOCs that you have created! The Michigan LEGO User Group suffered a great loss when you moved out to the west coast!
This is a true masterpiece!! It was really hard for me to decide about this match, because your entries are both amazing, but in a very different way. At the end I'll go with your entry because it's so accurate and detailful!
Nice job! Has to be the best (and biggest) microscale version of Minas Tirith out there! My only suggestion though would be that you should have added fire and smoke in places so it would look like the city was burning, since just building the city doesn't fit the quote very well. Good luck!
This was certainly one of the toughest matches I've judged yet. Elliot's fantastic Nazgul, troll, parts usage, and action scene had me really close to casting my vote for him, but the composition, insane circular construction, and remarkable detail of your build has won you my vote. Best of luck with the other judges!
Many skills required to make this piece what it is. Great layout of the base structure/choice of scale -to enable the nearly seamless angles. Great use of vertical/horizontal techniques for the centerpiece, the color scheme is great and nice choice of bricks for the details...
"And no small degree of charm" either! :)
Good work mate
