The Governor’s letter had arrived earlier this afternoon by courier, addressed in his distinctively firm script to “Thomas the Trader, with the Crimson Knights in Carthal.”

“From the Governor of Worsan to Thomas, Enalican Trader, concerning An Important Assignment,” the letter began, “Orfdor has long been an important city of Enalica, but as of late its government has become sadly corrupt. Drawoc has been dismissed from his post as governor of the city, but Isla Norte possesses many natural resources, and must not remain lawless. Also, to enact a firm treaty between the island groups, I will need dutiful, honest, and brave governors to aid me. Therefore, I have assigned you to become the governor of Isla Norte. You will leave Carthal immediately and proceed to Orfdor to take command. I trust that you will cooperate in this.”
“PS: When I say leave immediately, I mean it.”

Getting up from the desk, I started to walk towards the door, picking up the letter to put in my pocket.
”PPS: Not through the door, you fool. Through the window.”

I swung out the window, dangling over the moonlit street. It certainly seemed peaceful enough- this late, few of the citizens of Carthal were still up.

Dropping to the ground, I hurried quietly away. I wondered why the Masked had been so insistent.

Suddenly, the room I had just left exploded into an enormous ball of flame. A shimmering wave of heat and sound blasted into me. Reeling, I nevertheless managed to stagger into the shadow of another building. There was no other option now. Whoever was behind this obviously considered me enough of a danger to risk an open murder, and would stop at nothing. I had to go to claim Orfdor.
What Happens Next?
This is the photography setup I used for the overall, moonlight shots. For the sake of continuity, all the outdoor scenes were photographed on my half-disassembled Tourney intro. Funny story- my dad walked into the room while I was photographing to ask what I was working on. When he saw that I was finished with this, he kind of grunted agreeably and left the room before he had to lie that it looked nice. It may be ugly, but all that counts is what’s in the photographs :P

Behind-the-scenes of the main pic. In case you’re still in the dark, this is of a Black Lotus operative assembling the bomb to kill me. (Bad pun zone warnings may or may not have just been needed.)
Thanks for viewing!

In a few mocs time, I intend to have my character venturing to Orfdor to hunt a monster of some sort. Would you mind at all if Thomas made an appearance? [Ess]
Do you mind waiting until my rank challenge, when I arrive in Orfdor? If not, then go ahead. |

Nice edition. I love the shot with your character swinging out through the lit window. Very realistic. ;D
Thanks- that took a lot of camera positioning to keep the flashlight from being visible :P |

Your stories just keep getting better. :P Great explosion, great lighting, great build...although there are several missing 1x2 texturing tiles and the stud sockets are painfully visible. :P
Thanks :) I ought to have made sure everything on the ground was in order first :P |

Again the Masked shows his extraordinary penmanship, and again your dark shots amaze me. Thanks for including the picture of your set-up, but watch out - I'm imitating it before the month is out.
His penmanship? I made up the whole letter :P Thanks, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make of it! |
