Breaking up the monotony of endless creations for The Cult. And playing with newly acquired parts.
About this creation
Music (a bit long, yes, but I love this track):
I got the Winter Village Market during Black Friday 2013 and used the free Pick-A-Brick box to grab a few parts last month. I started building right away, but am only just now posting the resulting creations. I stocked up on a 100+ each of 1x2 purple tiles and olive cheese, with at least 250 more parts of random assortment on the side. Anyway, that's all for this bit of aimless ramblings, enjoy the MOC!
Overview. With a handful of daleks and two handfuls of purple tile, the obvious thing to do is build a mech, am I right? :)
Head. I'm really pleased with the way this eye turned out. As you may have noticed, Purple's design was loosely based on Atlas from Portal 2.
Legs. As far as aesthetics go, I'm happy with the way these turned out, though they have limited posability and are quite fragile.
Upper body. The antennae were a quick addition as I was finishing up, one that I am now happy I included. Purple was originally intended as a fixture in this MOC, but for reasons explained there became its own MOC.
Back. For many reasons this was the only shot I was able to get of its back, apologies for the awkward angle.
Leg, close-up. Black, purple, and trans-red... :D
Arm, close-up. The arms are far more poseable than the legs, and have a relatively large range of motion, as will be demonstrated further below.
Birds-eye. I was too lazy to count all the purple tile I used; props to the industrious individual with the time and energy to tell me how many there are...
Good-bye pose. Shows off the rotating hip and flexibility of the arms. Unfortunately, because it is virtually unable to stand safely due to its weak legs, Purple is now on display attached to a plate on my windowsill. Might stay there for a while.
Thanks for viewing, it's nice to have a MOC out that's not related to The Cult...speaking of which, I'm pumped up for the next couple episodes, should be a blast to build.
Don't forget to C&C, and once again, Thanks For Viewing!
