Before starting my Genesis serie, I need to know what I have in inventory, this is how I do it.
About this creation
These are most elements and all ships I have to date.
All figs, I still have lots of blue, yellow, and light grey elements.
I ll still buy more kits to make sure I have enough for a convincing story.
I ll build new vehicles and ships trying to capture the CS style.
most of my figs are red ones,
I ll get 7 more blue this week,
Chewie is there, cause I like to mix sw with cs.
My goal is to design a ship big enough to make vehicle pursuits inside...
I ll include adventures with many alien races.
CREATOR S LOG;
Sorry about Cybercity, there still needs to shoot some frames yet,
I had this CS attack!
I ll dismantle this, and resume for this week end.
the script is finished, so, it should be easy.
as for Meedass, I ordered 1000 big leaves pieces to make the forest,
I should get them early march, I realized with my Metal Legion episode
that I needed way bigger trees to fit my vision, I remanaged all my trees,
and had 172 leaves, I succeded in making 5 trees...
so, I decided to get a lot more,
I intent on ordering 1000 more in dark green, and the same in stems,
all my series should benefit from this,
you won t have to imagine anymore...
How did I miss this??? Mind you, I have been away from the Lego for a while and lost touch a bit. Frank, this is absolutely epic! For me this is up there as one of your best. This must take up loads of space but well worth it. Love it!
Absolutely stunning, I love classic space, I started with it 35 years ago and I wish I still had them all, But none survived the flood. Thanks for bringing back so many great memories with your brilliant work. Bravo and well done.
Quoting Stephan Schumann
thanks Stephan! suspending baseplates is a favorite technique of mine, + it s not often done, they re in my fav parts, I also use them verticaly sometimes, very practical techniques for massive scenes, it saves on parts and is much lighter, I tend to mix a little more yellow and white with my CS scenes than most, light gray and blue are fine, but, I like to accent with a bit more spice, this scene also features my first attempt with the horizontal arch technique for windows.
Quoting Builder Allan
thanks Allan! in my Metal Legion episode, the cabin was supposed to be UNDER the trees, but, it was highier than them, it looked silly to me, but it was too late... when I thought about my next Meedass episode, which is supposed to be in the thick of a forest, I knew right away that I was in trouble, it would look fake, also, I needed much bigger trees for the outskirt of Cybercity, which is supposed to be surrounded by forests, once more, it would nt look right, I talked with my friend who orders for me, and I m going to get 1000 normal green leaves, 1000 dark green, and the same in flower stems, that should fix my greenery problems forever, it will cost me around $500, but, hey, I m about ecology, and animals rights, so, I put my money where it counts. I ll check for it right away!
Quoting Scott Bertaut
thanks Scott! ok, I buy more and more, but, I quickly toss in the compartments my new parts, so, at one point, I don t really know how big I can afford to build, by building almost at the limit of my inventory [in this case 1' and 2' wide blue] I know where I stand, + when I put it back, I refine my compartment sorting, then, I know exactly what I have, and the size limit of my next scenes.
Awesome! This is a seriously cool classic base, even if it is only to check up on the collection. Your plans for trees sounds awesome, you'll certainly be able to set up large-scale landscapes when all those leaves arrive :-) Congrats on the many Olympic wins by the way, and good luck against my 'local neighbours' in the men's hockey finals! :-D There's also a new comment in the group ;-)
Wait, how does this help you take inventory? I really need to do this myself as I am always running out of parts, your way looks fun, but I don't understand how building a space base works for inventorying. The space base itself looks great, never had any classic space myself, but it really looks cool.
Quoting Deus "Big D." Otiosus
thanks Deus! I m mostly a story maker, I want to make the most immersive stories possible, like Georges Lucas, Gene Rodenberry, Gerry Anderson, I have a vision of my scenes, to convey my stories, in that respect, I am a fanatic! you are WITH me, it s just as good Deus!
Quoting Sven Jagdmann
thanks Sven! if you look at my ninja post, you ll notice that my trees are bigger now, it costs me about 40 of them each, I want around 20 for now, but, for variety, I ll add darker too.
Nice Classic Space collection! I like how you are using that theme as the beginnings of your Alta-5 universe. All of the Classic Space astronauts are all lined up for some peaceful exploring. Or so they think...
Wow Frank, this is a huuuge base!! ;) Excellent stuff again from you. You ordered 1000 leaves?? Crazy ;) I thought 200 are a lot (ordered them for my town) Still wow, wow and wow. I'm really excited :)
Somewhere a blacktron just felt a disturbance and had to change his flight suit!
Wow that's a lot of red shirts in one place that could be disastrous to the bases security :-) . I love all the ships ,and the base itself looks amazing . I like the trans yellow dome . Awesome work Frank! Can't wait for this series.
Incredibly, just overwhelming. I love the design of the base. And you have many well-preserved CS-Minifig, with most Minifig of mine isnīt it so ( because I have taken in my childhood Minifig always in the bathtub :))
Quoting Justin Knelsen
thanks Justin! I will need a lot to fill the ship in a convincing manner, I found a place to get more kits, but, they don t give them away, I m not rich, but, I m a patient man, hopefully, in time, I ll get enough.
