Part One of our group's custom items for Heroica play.
About this creation
Mushrooms grow in wet areas. They can be eaten to heal one health. They can also be used as a Reagent, or Potion base. (2 reagents can be combined by any character with knowledge of magic or healing, such as Alchemists, Light Mages, Dark Mages, Elves, Druids, etc)
Boulders are large heavy rocks that block paths. They are sometimes moved onto paths by rock golems, trolls, or other creatures large enough to push or carry them.
Boulders can be pushed out of the way by characters strong enough to do so. Giants can push a Boulder to a new location, moving it up to 2 spaces each turn. Amazons and Barbarians can push a Boulder 1 space each turn.
Boulders can also simply be attacked. They are destroyed after they receive 2 damage.
Dragon's Fire- Relic
The Dragon's Fire is a unique item, a Relic. Long ago, a powerful wizard captured the essence of a dragon into 4 relics, effectively banishing the creature's life force into these items: the Dragon's Fire, the Dragon's Tooth, the Dragon's Bone, and the Dragon's Blood.
Used by itself, the Dragon's Fire Relic is activated at any time during a player's turn. For the remainder of that Heroica map scenario, that player's character gains the Dragon's Fire ability, a new ranged attack. The Dragon's Fire has a range of 3 spaces. These attacks are resolved as a normal attack roll with the Heroica dice and deal 1 damage to a targeted enemy.
The Dragon's Fire can be combined with the other 3 Dragon relics. If all are collected by a single hero, that hero can summon the Dragon, which will permanently give that character the power of a DragonLord and replace the character's last 2 standard health markers with Fury Health Markers.
Rope is a simple item that can be used to climb obstacles or reach Heroica map spaces located off the Heroica map's regular paths. When rope is used, it can connect 3 points on the Heroica map at maximum. The first Heroica map space where the rope is thrown from is the starting point called the Anchor, and can reach a second map space nearby, called the Foothold. From the Foothold map space, the rope can again be thrown so that it may reach a final point, called the Tether.
-Throwing rope from one Heroica map space to another requires 1 movement.
-Climbing between 2 map spaces that are connected by rope requires 1 movement.
-When a character is in the Foothold map space, he or she may change the Anchor or Tether map spaces by collecting the rope and throwing it to form a new Anchor or Tether. This requires 1 movement.
The Rucksack is a heavy bag. The rucksack can carry up to 3 items within it. When a rucksack is discovered on a Heroica map space, it may be empty or packed. If it is packed, the GM must decide what items can be discovered inside.
A player who finds a Rucksack can place this item next to their Hero Pack. This item can hold up to 3 additional items.
Teleport Potion- Item
The Teleport Potion is a powerful Potion that speeds heroes along in their journey, or allows them to backtrack quickly to previous locations. A Teleport Potion opens 3 Dokodemo Doors. Dokodemo Door means "anywhere door". These are essentially portals through space that allow characters to pass immediately to a new area.
The Teleport Potion has a base range of 5. Roll the Heroica dice and add the movement roll result number to 5. This combined number is the Teleport Range.
To use a Teleport Potion, the character pours the Potion on the ground in the Heroica map space they are currently in. This opens 1 Dokodemo Door in that character's map space. Then walk the number of spaces equal to the Teleport Range in the desired direction, and place the next Dokodemo Door in that map space. For the final and third Dokodemo Door, choose either the original Dokodemo Door or the second, and again move a number of spaces equal to the Teleport Range in the desired direction. Place the final Dokodemo Door.
When a character moves onto the Heroica map space of any Dokodemo Door, they can choose to occupy any of the 3 Heroica map spaces where the 3 Dokodemo Doors lie. They can end their movement on a Dokodemo Door, but must place their character on the Dokodemo Door map space they wish to occupy. If an enemy moves onto a Dokodemo Door, they too can move to any other Dokodemo Door map space.
Tree of Life- Relic
The Tree of Life is a unique item, a Relic. It was carefully harvested from the Dhabu Forest by Druids hundreds of years ago. This Youngling tree, which was destined to one day grow into one of the finest Elder trees, was intended to be replanted in Druid grounds. The Druids hoped to bring a new vibrant life force to the waning energies of their homeland, which had suffered terribly due to over-mining by the dark wizard Ukray's Dwarven followers.
Unfortunately the Youngling tree was stolen by a naive thief, who originally believed the tree was an excellent reagent and could be sold to an alchemist. When the thief realized the Youngling's natural life-giving powers, he choose to keep it for himself. Over the decades, he sapped the tree's life force, keeping himself young all the while continuing his life as a thief. The thief honed his skills to become unnaturally gifted, having cheated death for so long that he could perfect his skills beyond any other in his guild. His rise to power within his guild created many enemies, and both he and the Tree of Life went missing some 15 years ago.
The Tree of Life has not grown since it was first removed from its original home in Dhabu. It's life-force has been sapped again and again, yet it still has almost unlimited life-giving potential.
When a character uses the Tree of Life, double that character's number of health markers. This ability works for the remainder of the current Heroica map scenario and the next Heroica map scenario as well.
Hey Michael, thanks for your comment! I'll try to add some more. I have about 8 more that I have pictures of now, but it's a matter of having the time to type them up properly. Hope to hear some of your ideas too. I like Heroica so much because it's so easy to customize the rules and use other games' concepts to improve on the Heroica gameplay!
Hey thanks for the compliment on these also. That maze of yours has given me some new ideas. I'll try to post my old Hedge Maze for Heroica soon also to share that with you. It's really simple compared to yours though! Wow I had 2 days off work, which is extremely rare, and the mocpages site was crashed for both of those 2 whole days. I wanted to add lots of stuff both days and didn't get the chance. Back to 'work' work now, unfortunately! No chance for 'Lego' work!
Definitely going to look into using these for my HEROICA expansions. These look like impressive items and relics.

Ok. So I really like this. The items are awesome stuff. You are really great at this stuff. If youre interested, I've made a bunch of microfigures. They aren't heroica, but you still might find some of it useful. I even made a maze that can be rearranged. I had heroica in mind when I built it.
