A series of twelve micro scale moon rovers in the classic space color scheme.
About this creation
Toyota, which we recently reported to invest heavily in configurable space ships, has just announced a new line of their successful ground vehicles.
The "Sprinter" provides fast personal mobility and features a small cargo trunk.
For moving large amounts of equipment or provisions, the "Transporter" is the perfect choice.
The "Communicator" features a directable multi-band satellite dish.
The robotic arm of the "Manipulator" is useful for repairs and construction work.
The "Viewfinder" will carry a telescope according to the specifications of the customer. It is shown here with a 700mm reflector telescope.
For refueling other vehicles, the "Tanker" carries up to two tons of liquid hydrogen and oxygen.
The "Tent" uses a mobile force field generator to build an enclosed volume for large building or repair sites, in case a breathable atmosphere is required.
The large "Ambulance" can carry two injured persons in case of an accident. It is equipped with a small field generator to support the rescue.
A small variant of the "Ambulance" is also available.
The "Command Center" provides mission control facilities for a staff of three.
The "Laboratory" can carry various scientific modules as required for each mission.
The "Launcher" carries a rocket of up to 5 tons. At the launch site, the rocket is put into a vertical position.
This MOC was inspired by the "Build your City" book by ..., which gives some great examples of how you can build a variety of cars working from one basic design. Obviously, this can be done for space models, too.
The models cover many of the classic themes like rocket launcher, communication module, command center, and so on. Gray is the dominant color, but the telescope and especially the rocket simply had to be built in white. I included blue for the larger models that are almost buildings on wheels. The yellow-black stripes indicate field generators, which worked out quite nicely.
I used the extended mode of LDD, so don't expect all parts to be available in the real world.
