I recently received a donation of lego, including some kind of a lorry base plate and a bunch of long (1 x 4/6+) white bricks and tiles. From the same circle of friends I also received a helicopter coast guard, and all the bespoke helicopter chassis have been unused for a while. I knew that between all these bits, with a little help from the rest of my Lego, there was a spaceship in there somewhere!
Because I wanted to be able to fit the ship out with a crew, I made it so it can all open up. There's the cockpit, the top, and the side door. Only one side opens up, the other side features large observation windows (with safety rail!).
Here's a close up of the engine room. Protected behind nano-filament-carbo-steel bars is the ship's fusion core. No touchy!
The rear end of the ship. You can see the big observation window, as well as a the formidable thruster array. I used the weird little gems from a Ninjago Eagle Mountain with some trans-blue 1x1 cones to make a cool thruster effect.
(I'll replace these photos with better quality ones after I've take some)
Thanks guys! I've worked on this one a bit more since the pictures, the area between the cockpit and the top door is a lot smoother, there's some more tiles covering up some of those top studs and I've filled it with crew and passengers for some fun pictures!
