Design a pair of wickedly cool bookends. Show them off holding up your library of Barbie Fairy Princess books, or whatever you read.
About this creation
Hello, and welcome to my second entry into the 2014 MocAthalon. My team is Pulp Briction and here is the link to the MocAthalon group!
My category today is Bookends! I had a few things I could've done for this, but I've recently been reading the GONE books by Michael Grant, so I thought I'd do a few scenes from those. Obviously, this moc will include spoilers.
My first bookend shows a part of the final battle from the first book, where Sam Temple fights his brother, Caine Soren, in front of a church, while some other kids fight some talking coyotes around the town square, and Sam's ex-best friend fails to shoot anything. I chose to only make the key point of the battle, their final fight after crashing through several buildings. Caine is telekinetic while Sam can shoot green lasers from his hands.
Here's a shot of the fourth and fifth books in the series being help in place. They're from my school library, I don't know what the stars mean...
And here's the second bookend, a mini version of a scene from the third book in which a group of anti-mutant fascists attempt to burn down the town of Perdido Beach, where the books take place.
The two scenes together.
A close up of the burning scene.
A close up of Sam fighting Caine, Caine on the left, Sam on the right.
Looks good! Those stories sound really cool! I'm not a super big fan of the bookends though, they just seem too messy. Sometimes studs can be a good thing, but not in this case. The water was a bit blocky, too. I liked the houses and the way the two guys were fighting, the floating stuff looked pretty cool. Good job, and best of luck with the judges!
