Reverse a historical moment: a ‘What if?’ category. Take an established moment in history and change it critically, then show us the immediate or long-term impact of that change. E.g. Kennedy survives the assassination attempt. Play for laughs or treat it as a serious look at the implications of one event and how it changed the world.
About this creation
In the kingdom of Spain in 1492, a young explorer named Christopher Columbus went to beg the queeen Isabella I to finance her journey across the Atlantic to find the Indies:
"Your Majesty, I'm the humblest of your servants, I come from Portugal and have come to implore that you finance thy trip to the Indies, It would increase your vast empire's wealth by a vast number!"
" You may think that with those kind words you shall achieve your purpose, but you need more proof and evidence of the fact." replied Queen Isabella
"Here is a map that says that the world is round, with those principles, I would be able to reach the Indies the other way round, avoiding the blasted Turks!"
"I see, see....I don't expect you will require much and seeing that your life is the only one at risk, I comply with your demands and accept to pay your voyage into the unknown..."
At this, Christopher was overwhelmed with joy and forgot where he was: " Oh beautiful queen, your eyes are as blue as the sea, which grants us great luck in our journey! Your body is sight for sore eyes for anyone...."
King Ferdinand who had been listening to the conversation but barely paying attention jumped at all this: " How dare you speak like that about my wife! You have no manners, you dammed Portuguese ship rat!Guards, seize him and send him to the dungeon!"
"Please sir-implored his companion-we meant no harm, please don't torture us!"
Nobody heard him and they died a few months later...
Since America wasn't discovered in the 15th century but in the 17th by the British, America was never named like that after the first cartographer who drew it's map. The man who drew the first map was named Drake Eagleton. Naturally, the continent was thus maed Eagleton.
The Eagletonian culture developed just like our did, except for the name... There were many repercusions to this but the main one was: NO Captain America,he would be called Captain EAGLETON!
