About this creation

Lego jeff working on a possible new eframe. <----This term comes from Exo Squad, one of the best cartoons no one watched. I always enjoyed it, and since my last mech was kinda crap in my eyes, I decided to make a better one. And I have been watching alot of sci fi, so i tried to make a mech that would work in a Blade Runner/Escape from New York/Aliens/Prometheus setting. Weither I nailed it or not, who Knows, I think I did, I could see this patrolling some future frontier colony or a heavy urban zone.

My wife thought this was a set, which tickeled me, and made me smile, she's pretty encouraging like that, and I'll be adding a scene to go with it at one point, with a new pilot of course, Lego Jeff is a lover, not a fighter. Enjoy the pictures, leave some feed back, do's and don'ts.

Once again a big thank you to Nabi and his work on the Lego Adventure book for the final leg designs.

Left arm almost done. :) legs soon after I look at some source material. The source material was Aliens, I was trying to make robot legs without really making them ball jointy, which I sorta did. Kinda, a little. But this was the early stage of the cockpit too. I dolled it up a bit, made it top heavy, the torso section was the most challenging, as I had never done something like that, the last pic of the bot shows what I'm talking about, happy scrolling.

Do those legs go all the way up?

Legs are almost done. Lets hope it works! Futher in the stream you'll see what I did to make the legs more stable, the first concept didn't work, and the darn thing fell over, luckily the top half survived. I grabbed my lego adventure book, looked at the bots that nabi made and adjusted them. I used as little of ball joints as I could in the final product, I didn't like how they looked from the get go, I might be using the same thing I used on the shoulders to make it more

Changed up the gun arm a bit. Maybe its also a stabby device

A rough draft of the final product. You can see the guns, you can see the big stabby thing. And you can see it's hand beckoning you to come forth, also Lego Jeff giving the thing a test drive over my coffee table. >.>

The new arm attachment made the thing less then stable, it was heavy topside, luckily the knees bend accordingly and if I need to, I can use the sword arm as a balance thing for awesome epic posing on my book shelf in my office.

The right hand of..uhh..a mech!

I wanted to make a working, hand ish thing, so I did. It's posable and I can make a fist with it. I could see the mech punching another mech, and then firing it's wrist mounted guns through it.Epic robot fight would be epic. The hand idea itself came from a bunch of movies, the lego adventure book, and me just messing around with some pieces. Before I knew it I had a sweet looking claw lego hand.

Pre- final arm assembly. The legs are fully posable..I should rephrase, I can move the legs around a bit, and turn them from side to side, I took wheel parts and put them above the knee, so the legs can swivel. The torso is also part wheel construct so that it can swivel, of all the things I did to this, I'm not happy with that part. But thats why lego is awesome I can rebuild! Moving along, The legs are identical in construction to a tee, however, the details are not, I did this because a uniform mech, one off the line would be like that, but maybe the operater did some "customization" to it, made it more his then anything, which leads, is this guy a mercenary? Probably. Some random frontier colony world hired him to keep out the giant space slugs.

The "hot rod" parts on the arms, yeah, I have a reason. I figure engines power nearly every part of this, maybe they're engines in the arms, probably is, hence why they're sorta thick? Going back to the style I was looking for, I think it makes sense. The random bits on the arms and legs are for personilzation, nothing more. I did try to give everything a function, but some of it is there because I think it looks cool.

This thing was alot of fun to build. I do alot of super hero things, and don't get me wrong I love it! But, science fiction/space is my first love always and forever. I hope to do some more stuff like this over the next year, maybe not a mech, but I do have some space ship ideas in mind.

Thanks for looking, thanks for reading, good luck in future builds, and stay tuned for an actual scene. Alright so by stay tuned I mean it'll be in a month or so, if not sooner.
