The Morannon

The Morannon, Gate of Udun, built of indomitable black stone and a symbol of fear to the free races of Middle Earth. Although nowhere near true mini-fig scale, I tried to give this MOC as much size as I could. Eventually I would like to expand the gate to include the Two Towers of Teeth and really capture the scope of this grim fortification. Also, the gate does open and close. Several caves run through the mountains in this set, complete with blacksmiths, armories, slave quarters, a lair for Shelob, several ballistae and a group of orcs enjoying Mordor's liquor reserves.

Fantastic! This amazing work of art cannot be described by the words that exist today! You officially have my respect! Oh and one question, how many Uruk Hai do you have and how didi you get them? I would really appreciate it if you answered that. Anyways this build is spectacular. -Arveldir

You have the design of the gate down perfectly, and you really managed to capture the gloomy feel of Mordor. Excellent work.

Quoting Kermunklin the Giant Evil House Head Wow, that is just insanely good. Didn't they have trolls that had to open the gate in the movie? And if so, why did the trolls not turn to stone? Fantastic work, although I'm not sure I'd want to taste Mordor's liquor reserves.
Thank you good sir! Yes, there were two trolls on round stone ramparts that worked the gate. I had hoped to include at least that part of the gate (I even ordered two cave trolls to work it) but I simply ran out of room and patience with this MOC. Honestly the longer it sat on my desk the uglier it got and I couldn't wait to tear it apart!
